We are going Labor Day week. There is only one F! Show at 730m ~ I have the Fantasmic dinner package booked, but would prefer to cancel that if there wouldnt be a problem getting a seat for the show. We only have 1 HS day, and already have a sit down lunch booked at Sci fi- I would rather not use 2+ hours for meals. Is it a safe bet that we can get a seat standby or should I keep the dinner package reservation? I dont want to miss the show! !

There's a good chance a later Fantasmic will be added for that night. But, if you enter the amphitheater at least 45 - 60 minutes before the show, seats will be available. I watched Fantasmic during Pres' Week (2/18 ), and seats were available in the standby section 40 minutes before the first Fantasmic.

The following week, I watched both Fants one evening and the first show was standing room only. Even with the crowds, the standby section wasn't filled until about 20 minutes before the show. At 5 minutes before showtime, they allowed standby guests into the Fp+ area and into the SRO walkway areas. As long as you plan on an early arrival, you won't need the dining package nor Fp+.

The park is scheduled to close at 7pm and the show time says 730- so I will try to get to the area by 630ish. Does anyone know how early they open the seating so guests can find seats and have snacks?

I think you should be fine. By this week, most kids are back to school or like my district, starting school right after Labor Day. I also believe they open the theater about 1 hour before show time (our past experiences).

Thanks for the input everyone...I will be there at a similar time and definately want to see the show.

We have never NOT been able to get into Fantasmic and we go all different times of the year. The only time we have done a package with seating was the week before easter. We usually get to the entrance about 45 minutes before the show, 15 minute walk in, so sitting for about 30 minutes. The only time we go earlier is if the show starts after the park has closed.

We might just be lucky, but we have never had a problem and we go fairly often.

Yes! Thanks for the input. Just cancelled my F! Dinner package reservation~ we wouldnt be hungry enough to justify the cost if we can get seats for the show regardless. BTW park close is 8 and show 830... I had my times off by an hour.
