I've read 2 TRs in the last week or so (MsPoppins and Rottie) of people who have told the hotels that it's a birthday and have gotten nice little treats.

Now, I have zero luck with Disney room allocation or pixie dust.

Should I email HNY today to say we're coming and it's my birthday.....

Or shall I just leave it? I don't want to sound demanding.

It is worth a try sending a really nice email saying your looking forward to your stay etc. If it is worded well it shouldn't sound demanding.

No harm in having a go. I'd contact the reservations line and ask them to put a note about your birthday on your booking.

We may be going the same time as my DD birthday next year (6), I was wondering if there are any extras for birthday girls.....so am interested in hearing replies!

Ps what is pixie dust?

I never get pixie dust onsite unless I've had to complain beforehand unfortunately :confused3. Its worth a try though - if they don't know you're having a birthday they certainly won't be able to surprise you will they :)?

Something along the lines of how many times you've already visited, really looking forward because its a special trip for a birthday, and so you'd like a nice room etc etc.

Can't hurt.

pixie dust is what we call it when DLP lays on a little surprise for you when you arrive ie balloons, VIP breakfast slots, a room upgrade etc etc.

I think you may as well give it a go. Nothing to lose.

I tried to sound enthusiastic when I emailed them and said how excited we were about going, and really looking forward to being back at the HNY. I said it was our daughter's birthday on the arrival date and that we'd be arriving in the evening so hoped we'd get a nice room.

I know there have been many, many people who have emailed and not had anything extra, so it might just be down to who actually reads your email.

Good luck pixiedust:

As Ms Poppins says .. you've got nothing to lose but asking but everything to gain :thumbsup2 Go for it, my mum always said 'if you don't ask you don't get' :cutie:

id go for it - nothin to lose n all that.... altho im in the 'nothing EVER nice happens to us' area....

weve been on both boys birthdays and nothing!!!!!!!!! the one time, they actually said oh there will be a surprise..... and there was the standard choc coins!!! ive even had complaints and still never had anything back....

i think we r just very very unlucky.....

You've got nothing to lose by emailing!

Interestingly, the cm that I spoke to when booking realised that it was Lotties birthday while we were out there and said that she had made a note on the booking and would see what Disney magic she could create for her! As with a lot of these things, I think it depends on who is on the other end of the phone/email. Some cms seem a lot more helpful than others!

I'm coming to this a bit late but what did you decide?

Yes I did. I doubt they'll read it in time.

But I just explained what huge Disney fans we are, and that it's a special occasion and how excited we are to visit and see Dreams. And that I know HNY is a great hotel but that a nice room would be greatly appreciated.

Of course none of the rooms will be bad. And I'm
Not there to look out the window. But it'd e nice if there was something pretty to look at. :)

I'm going expecting a lovely room, but with a view of a wall. And anything better will jut be a nice Disney bonus.

This might be a stupid question - but where did you get an email address for the hotel? I would LOVE to get my hands on one for Newport Bay Club - being from Australia phone calls are just that much more annoying... ;)
