Should I check in online?

Hi!

We arrive at MCO at 11:44 P.M. on July 27.

Should I check in online simply for room requests? We don't wanna be put at the back back of the hotel where we have to walk very far to head to the buses.

Also, since I will arrive about midnight to 1:30 a.m., will they have a room ready when I arrive ? (by email)
Are Cast Members even awake at that time ?
We are Canadians, so we will get our MagicBands there.

I would check-in online. The room assignments are done a day or 2 ahead of time, so I wouldn't think they would "bump" you just for coming in late. There's no guarantee you won't be at the back of the resort though even with putting in a request. Unfortunately if everyone puts in for lowest floor near transportation, eventually they won't have that left.

Cast members will be at the desk. They have people there 24/7.

and they're used to folks showing up at all hours of the day and night. i believe that you indicate your approximate arrival time when you do online check-in. (i should know that) if it doesn't, it wouldn't hurt for you to call and have them note your approximate arrival time if it'll give you piece of mind.

My advice on this, I would call and have any room requests noted on your reservation. I would not rely on the online check-in room request options as they are notoriously innacurate/impractical for some resorts. Personally, I ignore the online check-in room request options.

If you arrive at MCO at 11:45 PM and are taking DME to your resort, you need to collect your own luggage from baggage claim. DME does not collect luggage after 10 PM
You will likely not arrive prior to 1:30. It often takes longer that time of night as they try to fill the busses.
I would call and insure they know about your late arrival.
CM's work all night and yes they will be awake.

OP, I hope your reservation starts July 27, not 28. If it's the 27th, they will certainly have a room for you. If it's the 28th, you will have to wait until at least 6 am for a room.

Yes, of course there are CMs working 24/7.

Yep! Technically I arrive the 28th but on my reservation I put the 27th. On my online check in the arrival time just says my Disney Magical Express reservation so they probably know the time I arrive.

We fly out of Pearson on a flight that lands us in Orlando around 1130 almost every trip.

I always check in online. Just speeds up the process a bit.

Regardless of how you check in, you may end up with a room request not met. Be prepared for that.

Your room will definitely be ready for you - but you could be as late as 2am. The downside to arriving that late is they'll wait to "fill" the ME buses. We've sat on a bus waiting to leave the airport for as much as 45 minutes (not cool) and then there are as many as 3 stops per bus. You may luck out and be the first. You may not. Last trip we weren't snug in our beds until 3am.

Make sure you don't put the yellow tags on your bags and grab them before heading to ME.

Check flightaware for flights arriving then or later at mco. Yes there will be people there to take the bus.

Doing checkin you can tell them when you will get in. They will have options until around 6am. So they'll know when you are arriving.

We arrived after midnight and got dme. Arrived at POR after 1am and our room was all happy and ready when we got in.

The airport and resort won't be bustling with activity but I think you'll be surprised how many people are around that late at night.
