Should I cancel my CRT reservation?

Just need some advice...

Going in Sept with 7 people (our family and my parents). I made reservations for CRT because I couldn't get BOG. When I called later in the day I was able to get BOG.

Then we changed our plans around and ended up booking Akershus as well.

Should I just keep CRT or is that overkill? (We also have Cape May Cafe & 1900 Park Fare for breakfast and Tusker House for lunch.)

We ate at CRT last September, but my parents have never been there.

I didn't care for Akershus. I think I may be the only one.

People talk about the princesses at CRT being in a rush, but they barely stopped at our table at Akershus. It's like they saw two adults and thought we weren't worth the time. Also, we were there for breakfast and went down the cold buffet. I picked out a bagel, but there was no toaster at the end! Also, I'm going to be a snob, but it's not a real castle. I like CRT much better. You have some variety in the entrees. If I was going to cancel any of them, it would be Akershus.

Really this is a personal preference type of thing and you are going to get answers for and against. Personally my family prefers Akershus. If you go a lot and did CRT last year I would skip it, but I understand why you want to keep it. I am going this year with my parents and have gone back and forth on whether to book CRT because they have never done it, even though I don't want to really do it I was considering it for them.

I'd axe Akershus. All 7 of us thought it was horrible. But I know we are in the minority, but the food was weird.

We've done Akershus a few times and actually enjoy the lunch there. We are keeping that one no matter what. We're spending 3+ days in Epcot and my dad loves it there.

I know I'll get varying opinions. Just seeing if one of those opinions would sway me one way or another. Plus, if I'm cancelling, I want to do it soon so someone else can plan!

I love Akershus!!!! I think that CRT is more about eating at "the" castle. Everyone should do it at least once. As far as the Princesses are concerned you can see them elsewhere. I have not been to CRT since they changed the menu and added the other girls. The thing I always look at is the 2 dining credits it takes to eat there. If you are paying out of pocket I say go for it! BOG is nice, I enjoy the food. Each time I have been there we were seated in the West Wing so it was nice and quiet. A bit more intimate than the Ballroom. I am actually considering booking CRT for our next trip because I have friends that have never eaten there. It will be an all adult dinner. I have already booked BOG for this coming trip.

I agree with the pp that eating at CRT is about the experience of eating in the castle, so I would keep it since your parents have never been.

I keep trying to get a reservation at CRT but nothing is available! Out trip is the last week of May. Does something come available as time gets closer?

Yes, definitely keep trying! It is not uncommon to see cancellations before final trip payments and other peoples' plans can change all the time. What do you have to lose?!?
