Should I cancel CP? Alternatives?

We are arriving in time for lunch at MK (or the surrounding area) early in April. I booked Crystal Palace because it was in the park we'd be at for the day. With all of the horrid reviews lately I am wondering if I should change it. We haven't had lunch or dinner there in years. Breakfasts were a few years ago, too.

Should I change my ressie? If so, where to (TS-wise)? We are dining at Liberty Tree Tavern later on that night.

I wouldn't. Just because I and other didn't enjoy it, doesn't mean you won't. I had heard horrid reviews of Hollywood and Vine, but we went and enjoyed it a lot.

I ALWAYS say, go for yourself, and then you'll see if you like it or not.

I would keep the ADR. Crystal Palace is a) hard to get ADR's and b) an excellent restaurant that continually gets a bad reputation on the DIS

We've been to Crystal Palace 3 times: 2 times for dinner, and 1 time for lunch. All three meals were excellent, sometimes the best of our trip. The service has been outstanding, and the food has been supurb.

I would try it, and if you don't like it, don't return.

I would try it out and see for yourself as others have said.

But, with a LTT ressie, I would go have some of those Figario Fries for lunch

I agree with the previous posters! For every person who had a bad experience, there are tons more who had a great one. It's just that people are more likely to post a bad experience. If you didn't book at any restaurant that was complained about at some point, you wouldn't be able to eat.

I also agree with the above posters....My DH and I went there for lunch last October....it was my favorite meal....we had no problems getting the characters to interact with us and got great photos....Go and decide for yourself....don't let the negative reviews influence your decision.

We love CP breakfast and dinner but have not been for dinner in a few years so we are going back in April....cannot wait for the adobe pork and corn spoon bread!

I agree. Don't change your ADR....try it for yourself instead of relying on any bad reviews you've read. Most of the time people will post about their bad experiences over their good ones.

I had hesitated to try Alfredo's and Mama Melrose's because of negative reviews but I really wanted to try these restaurants so I made ADRs. We wound up enjoying both places VERY much...so you really can't rely on the fact that just because someone else didn't like a restaurant, you won't either. Go and make up your own mind.

Now I only have CP and Trails End to compare together, but I'm going to CP (our only MUST DO) and not Trails End.

We ate at CP during our trip earlier this month. It was one of the better meals and dining experiences we had all week. Our food was good, we had great service, and we loved the atmosphere/character interaction. Even though it hasn't met the expectations of some, I believe it is still considered one of the top character meals in all of WDW. It is certainly one of the best restaurants at MK. Go and enjoy!
