Should I cancel Chef Mickey's and replace with a different restaurant?

For our 10 night trip, I'm trying not to book more than 5 sit down meals. We love them but they take up a big chunk of our park time. Park time is limited to what my youngest can deal with, so we're usually only in the parks a few hours in the morning and then return for a few hours in the evening.

We've been to Chef Mickey's and have another visit scheduled during this trip but we're also going to Donald's Safari Breakfast. We REALLY want to meet Daisy but we'll see Mickey and Minnie there, too...right?

I'm thinking I should cancel our CM adr and replace it with something else. What would you suggest?

The ADR's we already have are:

Donald's Safari Breakfast
Crystal Palace (4:30 before MVMCP)
Trex lunch
Sci Fi desserts
Chef Mickey's

(we've done CRT and kids are fine with either going again or not going again)

I can't speak of CM dinner but if you have breakfast scheduled then I would cancel it and go with Cape May instead. Minnie is not at the safari breakfast but her, Goofy and Donald are at Cape May in beach attire and it was a much better breakfast experience than CM.

Donald Safari Breakfast has Donald, Daisy, Mickey and Goofy. I had to find the picture from last year. :lmao: As far as cancelling CM, it depends on your kids. My kids always insist on at least one CM. My husband and I don't care for the food any more, but the kids love going. Instead of doing CM two times, we now go to the Crystal Palace. We are also trying Cape May Cafe for breakfast this year. Everyone on here seems to love it there. We are also doing Donald's Breakfast again, since everyone enjoyed it!

What about 'Ohana either for breakfast with Stitch or for dinner? We love both. I admit that we are not huge CM fans. On longer trips we do usually schedule a breakfast to see the Fab 5 all in one place but we were not thrilled with the one dinner we had there.

Love your other choices!

Keep Chef Mickey's! I remember going to Chef Mickey's as a little girl. My nephew's loved going to Chef Mickey's and prefer Chef Mickey's over Crystal Palace. For me, Disney is all about the kids, so I do what they want and try to make the vacation as magical as possible for them.

I know lots of people complain about the food at Chef Mickey's, however I liked it just fine. There's a vast assortment of food and everyone can find something to eat. It's more about the characters then the food. We go to Chef Mickey's as our first meal. This way the boys get their character fix and when we go to the Magic Kingdom we don't have to wait in line to see Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto because they've already seen them and we can focus on the rides. :thumbsup2
