Ok we are going to Disney in Oct. for our honeymoon, my fiancee's parents are members of DVC and they are giving us our honeymoon as a gift. So his step-mom has made the reservations and everything. my question is this, Our plane lands at 7:??pm do we need to call and let them know at Boarwalk so they don't give our room to someone else?

Any info will be apprecaited

NO;)

If your room is reserved thru DVC on points, if you check in late it is no problem. If you actually didn't check in until the next day (not that this would happen) your room still would not be given away. It would just sit there empty. You would loose the points though spent for the room for that night- you couldn't get them back because you didn't show up until the next day.

Hope that puts your mind at ease. Have a wonderful honeymoon! Congratulations! You'll really enjoy your stay at the Boardwalk villa's. You'll love the location!

OK, thanks. I wasn't sure it's not often we go anywhere lol

Does it make a difference if they reserved a room in Boardwalk inn rather than the villas?

I'm pretty sure we got a room at the Inn part and not the villas.

Okay - well, that could change things as DVC members cannot book at the Inn portion of BW on points. Are you sure they didn't book you at the DVC portion of the resort? If they booked you at the BW Inn and not the Villa's then they would have had to have booked you paying cash like any other guest - not using their DVC membership in which case your stay would work the same way as anyone staying at any regular Non-DVC WDW resort.

If that's the case, I'd think if your room is paid for thru CRO, I'd doubt it could be given away but you may want to call and check with them for their "official" policy - but I've never heard of a room given away, just may not get first choice with requests for particular views and such. Being that you'll be arriving 7pm and not 1am, that is probably the worst that can happen but you could always call about it and put your mind at ease;)

First I'd double check with your Mom in law to be and clarify if you're staying at the villa's or if she booked you paying cash at the Inn. If you are staying at the villas, you have absolutely nothing to worry about.

Thanks so much for the info I will call her and find out. They wanted to give us a week but job reasons we can only take the 4 days, so I honestly have no clue but I will find out lol

Thanks again

I believe that you can indeed use Points to stay at BWI. In fact you can use points for any resort or cruise even.

DVC points cannot be used at WDW resorts that are connected to DVC resorts, specifically Boardwalk Inn, Beach Club, Wilderness Lodge. You can use them for any other moderate or deluxe resort (not value) or trade out for places like the cruise.

Thanks DebbieB that is very interesting....I wonder if we will be in a villa then or if they are paying cash...I really should call them and find out..
