We are planning our first trip to Universal during the week of thanksgiving after many trips to Disney. We plan to stay at one of the universal hotels on wed - friday nights and will be in the parks wed, thurs, Fri, and maybe Sat. morning.

It looks like the best deal on tickets right now is $99/person an entire week (even though we only need 4 days). I don't know much about how Universal discounts tickets and what kind of specials they normally run. Should I jump on the $99 deal or should I wait for something bettter?

The ticket specials could end at any time so get them now if you're going or risk not getting anything.

I asked this same question a couple weeks ago and the answer was yes.

I am going in April and I bought them. Mainly because with the opening scheduled WWOHP in the spring of 2010, many think discounts will be few because of everyone wanting to go anyways.

I would buy them. Great deal if you are definately going :)

The deal sounds great, I'm thinking I should buy it now too for our april trip. But if I want the Express Plus option, can I still buy this ticket and add the express on later?? Or do the tickets/express have to be purchased at the same time?? We will not be staying onsite.

You can purchase the Express Plus passes at any time. I would wait until you arrive and see what the lines are like before putting out the money for the EP. You can purchase them at various stores in both parks so there is no need to worry if the lines are getting too long for you.

Do they ever expire? Planning a huge trip in 2011 and it is going to take me 2 years to save for all the various tickets for a family of 5. We want to do disney, universal, seaworld and swim with the dolphins. I have some extra cash now and want to get everyone a ticket for christmas:)

They do not expire until you activate them at the gate.

We purchase our tickets for our Mardi Gras '10 trip this weekend, we wanted to lock them up. Good luck!

I got all our 7 dy. passes (10) & Annual Passes (3) about 2 weeks ago for our June/July 2010 trip. I THOUGHT I was going to be waiting until around Dec. to purchase our tickets but the nervousness and anxiety was just too overwhelming. I just KNOW this deal will disappear with the WWOHP opening. I would have died if I had missed this deal.

Let me tall ya...I'm sleepin' a lot better at night now :rotfl: .

i like how you think homie....!

i have had the ap for years and plan to continue renewing it each year.

i bought the 7 day pass of $99 just in case i ever take anyone with me to the darkside.

i know they will never expire.

i still have 2, one day park tickets from the early 90's that are still valid.

yup, i checked it out with GS and it's still a good ticket.

i am thinking like you.
i can NOT imagine ticket prices will stay the same once the entire parry hotter thing is in place.

my present concern is the hotel rates increasing when HP comes to town.

It's good to know we can buy them now...we probably won't get there til Nov. 2011....darn, it seems so far away....but I think I'm gonna at least purchase our adult tix now!
