Should I buy GVC while at WDW or through my west coast guide?

Hi all!
I am a current DVC member (but not a Founding Member) who lives in Oregon. We originally had a guide in Florida (Ken Bradshaw) but last fall we were assigned a new guide who is in California (Anthony Tatad.) I let him know that we definitely want to buy into VGC but haven't heard from him in a few months.
We happen to be going to WDW next week as my son is having a Disney wedding at the Wedding Pavilion at the Grand Floridian. :yay: We will be there until March 27. My question is since sales begin March 26, should I do the purchase while we are there with a different guide? I would feel better doing it in person than through the mail but is that just silly? Are there any advantages to buying at WDW? I heard that if you are buying 200 points or more in person at Disneyland, you get 2 free annual passes but obviously we won't be at the right park at the right time.
Any and all advice would be very appreciated. Thank you!
Wendy

I would be tempted to call and get assigned another Guide. You need to know what incentives they are offering so you can decide if it is worth it to buy in person.

That being said, I have never purchased in person and my Florida guide took care of my founding VGC purchase -- took my info before sales started and sent my paperwork the next week when they did start. It was easy and I got the developers points that I wanted.

You might not want to fool around with DVC when you are there for your son's wedding and it would be something fun to look forward to when you returned.

Good luck with your decision and planning!

P.S. I was DL castmember in the late 70's too. :goodvibes
