Should I buy Aulani DVC?

So I just got into DVC. I live in San Francisco and bought 100 points @ the Poly from Disney so I can go to WDW every 2 or 3 years. I also just bought 100 points @ Grand Californian so I can go either Disneyland for a long weekend every year or go to Aulani every 2 or 3 years.

If I want to be able to go to Aulani every 3 years during the summer in a Studio Ocean view it looks like I need 52 points a year.

However, I feel like I have enough points for my family and don't want to increase my yearly dues (the buy in payment doesn't concern me).

Do you think Aulani will always be easy to book 7 months out in the summer for a Ocean view studio room? or should I invest in the 52 points from Disney before it sells out? I don't want to buy resale because my backup is to use the points at the disneyland hotel if I can't afford to fly one year.

What does everyone think? I am new to DVC and don't have any gut instincts on if Aulani will get super hard to book when it gets more sold?

I'd be more worried about those monthly dues skyrocketing a la vero beach since it's also a beach side resort. That really wears on the property over the years.

I think you'll be able to get into Aulani long term but a specific view might be tough. I wouldn't buy and if later you see it's an issue, you can always buy then.

June reservations at the 7 month mark at Aulani can be hard to get because all of the other DVC members that don't own at Aulani are trying to get that month as it is cheaper points than any other summer month. So it could be available or might not. You will have an advantage since you want Ocean view because many other members only want the cheapest room possible. Having said all that I would stick with your plan to book at the 7 month mark. You don't really want more points so why buy more? Just book right at the 7 month mark even if you have to get up at 4:00 am.

Thanks, yeah I was thinking July. I'll stick with my 200 points. I really don't want my dues going any higher than they already will. I with there was a version without dues. Thanks everyone
