Should I buy an AP?

I've never purchased an AP before, but since the prices are going up tomorrow, I'm finding myself wondering if I should purchase one for next year.

We are traveling in March and December next year. Is it worth it to buy it for 2 trips? We will probably hit the parks about 4 days each trip.

What's your opinion? Should I take the plunge???

if you are not sure you could always buy a 10 no expire now before tickets go up then when you go you may have a better idea and you can use one of the 10 day tickets and apply the entire amout of the 10 day ticket to your ap. Buy using one day first you will get current value rather than what you paid so it would absorb the cost of the ap going up....that is what I am doing

If you go this route, you need to do some math first.

The gate price of a 10 day MYW base ticket with the no expiration feature is more than the cost of a DVC AP. Disney ticket policy is to NOT give refunds for upgrade transactions. So you will need to buy a ticket that has a gate price less than the price of the DVC AP (or DVC PAP if you plan to get that one).

Be sure to use the gate price for the comparisons if you are buying a discounted MYW ticket.

There are other nuances to the upgrade process that are also important.

My advice is to go to the Theme Parks Board and read the STICKY Thread on WDW Tickets. Pay close attention to post #7 on Upgrading to annual passes. Author is Cheshire Figment, a Disney CM. You can count on the info he supplies to be accurate and up to date..
