Is there any information in the PassPorter that I can't find out from The DIS, Dave's site, or Barb & Tony's site?

I've been on a DCL cruise before also. Is the PassPorter mainly for newbies or would I find info in there that I can't find anywhere else?

It probably does help the first time cruiser more. I couldn't get DH to sit down & read thru the boards every day like I did & it put all the information in one place so that he could read thru it. We also took it with us & looked up some things on the way to the ship & a few times on the ship as well.

Well i think if u read this board and these 2 site's u will know everything u need to know...... Also read a few Trip reports
And if u have any Questions just ask...

Mainly for Newbie's

If you like the WDW passporters you'll like the cruise one, I enjoyed reading through even though I get all the info I need here:D

:sunny: Just an FYI! If you decide you want the passporter the 2004 one will not be out till April. I preordered mine. I have been on the cruise before but I just like reading and talking (on the boards) about any thing that is about Disney.

My answer to that is a rhetorical question; "What is your time worth?" If reading it, versus reading all other sources of information about DCL saves you one (1) hour, it was worth your investment (and it's a good read too).

The Passporter boils down volumes of information with great narrative and description that in my brief experience on this Board I have not found comparison.

Don't get me wrong, the DIS board is great for up-to-the-minute changes, lots of facts and DCL fellowship - and Barb's and Dave's site are without peer for DCL information (as compared to other fan developed cruise sites I've come across), but if you want a more complete perspective I recommend the Passporter.

You spending thousands on a vacation, why be penny wise and pound foolish?

I've been reviewing advance copy of the Second Edition of the PassPorter for DCL. It's great! Although you can learn just about anything you need to know by reading these boards, or my site, or Barb's site, or Mickey's cruise guide, the PassPorter arranges it wonderfully.

The Passporter is a great book, but honestly by the time it came in the mail I had already knew about everything in it that I was concerned about. I think about everything in it can be found on the net. It is handy to have it all in one book if you think about it though. Would I buy it again? No.

I really like the Passporter in addition to the boards. I have found things included there that I forgot to check here. Plus I purchased the version with the pockets, and have been able to organize all my documents, airline receipts, travel insurance info etc, which is a miracle for me. And in case of an emergency, my DH will know exactly where to look for all the paperwork, passports etc.

We love the passporter. We bought when we di our first big WDW trip in '02 and we bought it again when we took the cruise in '04. Great starting off point. Get it.

Like Dave, I've been having the pleasure of reviewing the revised version. I think it's worth it for the section on staterooms alone! The great thing about the Passporter is that it organizes all the information in a nice, logical way, and you can take it with you. Get the new edition in April, and I don't think you'll be disappointed.

We had been on three previous Disney cruises. We nevertheless bought the Passporter and loved it. We will be buying the new version next month as well!

My favorite thing about the passporter -

It makes for great bathroom reading!

Unless you can take your laptop into the bathroom, this is a great alternative. Believe it or not, that book has been in and out of our bathroom for the past nine months. I just pick it up and thumb throught it, and pick up all sorts of interesting tidbits, or I remember something I forgot from an earlier source.

Sorry for sharing these intimate details - but that's where I've read that book the most!

I agree with Dave and Barb completely.
The Passporter is everything that you need to know, a lot you didn't think that you need to know, some stuff that you wish that you didn't know and just a couple of items that you thought that you knew but you were completely wrong about and at least one typo for you to find.

Good question. I was thinking about buying one for our next cruise. I think that having it and a print out of "All the best tips summarized" is a great way to have the info on hand.

AS a veteran cruiser (twice Wonder, 5x Magic) I find that the Passporter is an excellent tool for information. Yes, things are available on line, etc, etc, but it's a book and handy to look things up with. It does have information that I found new, even as a veteran, and I do highly recommend it.

I also bought the WDW Passporter and find that to be just as informative and convenient!

Thank you all very much for your opinions! I was leaning towards getting one. Now I'm sure I will. ::yes::

I love the PassPorter books. They are so informative and easy to carry. I like having all my info in one place.

I can't wait for the new version to come out.
