Should I bring Princess dresses from home?

On our last trip we brought our 2 dd's princess dresses from home for them to wear. The only time they wore them was for breakfast at CRT and then as soon as we left the castle they wanted to take them off and dh had to carry them around all day. They never wore them again or asked to wear them, when I asked if they wanted to they both said no.

Should I even bother packing them each a dress this time?

I would rather pack them than have to buy another useless dress when your there. Those dresses are top $$ in WDW. I'd pack um...

i'd take them...get a locker if the girls dont want to wear them all day. we specifically asked nanny and grandpa for dd's 4th bday knowing dd was getting a bbb makeover. i fully expected her to say i want it off afterwards. she fell asleep! lol then a few hrs later asked for it off and we siad can you wait til lunch with the princesses is over and then she refused to take it off.

but as the pp said the dresses are insanely expensive in my opinion.

We brought 9 (yes I said 9) dresses with shoes and accessories on our trip a couple weeks ago. When she was done wearing them we just but it in a bag and shoved it in the stroller. The dresses started at $60 at the parks and that was just way too much for us. Besides every girl walks around in that same dress, it's nice to be a little different.

We took ours with us in June, as soon as we were done at CRT the girls wanted them off, it was just too hot, but they definitely wanted them when they were about to meet Cinderella.

my daughter wanted to wear hers the next day after the cinderella dinner and we said no as i'm not about to stuff it in the stroller taking space when she got tired of wearing it as I knew she'd get.

if i was traveling on a plane and not doing a character dining, i'd just leave them.. no use taking space for them.

This is the opportunity for a good learning experience. Let them know up front that if they are going to want to wear a dress at WDW, it will be one they already have. Have them confirm in front of both you and your husband that they don't want to take the dresses and they know that they will not be getting a new one at WDW. If they still say "don't take them", don't pack them and then stick to your guns.

The one caveat to this is... I assume you set a souvenir budget ahead of time that you stick to. If you don't, you should. What if one of the outfits is within the budget? Will you let them get it? Get your game plan together now and stick to it.

I say yes. It will be the time you don't that they want to wear it all day:rotfl:

I would take them, because I wouldn't want to deal with the whining when I said "hell to the no" at the park :D But, my DD loves to wear hers all day most of the time, and the baby will wear it some & not the rest, but it'll be fine. I'll take a ziplock bag & throw them in the stroller when I need to. They compress pretty good in those bags!!
