Am going to Disney in May and will be there for Flower Festival at Epcot. I will be there with my wife, SIL, DD 7 months and DD 20 months. Will there be activities at Epcot for DD 20 months or should we skip that park?

Hi! I haven't been to the Flower & Garden show but here is a link i found. https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/e...national-flower-and-garden-festival-for-kids/

At 20 months, every day is an adventure & vacation. Simple things like bubbles make a young child happy. with that said, personally, my thought is, are there things at Epcot you would like to do? I don't plan my Disney vacations around my young children. If i wanted to visit the Flower & Garden show, I would simply bring my 20 month along with me

ETA: i have taken kids to Epcot (just not Flower & Garden Festival) Here are 2 links on touring with a toddler.

Hope this helps you in your planning! Epcot is my favorite park, don't dismiss it just because you have a little one in tow :)

My 2 yo loved EPCOT. He enjoyed the fountain, the aquarium, Nemo, the flowers, the musicians. We are going next week and planning a to enjoy all of that as well as the playgrounds. I would not skip EPCOT.

absolutely - my kids loved epcot at that age - our best memories are the living seas at the fish tank - watching them dance while the bands played - the movies entertained them - as long as you know their limitations - also if you want an adult meal - try to make it for their naptime - we always spend at least two days there

I'm with the PP - I don't make plans strictly for my children. My daughter will be 18 months old - the rest of the family loves Epcot, so we'll be taking her. At that age, she'll be so stimulated by everything around her, she won't need rides or shows to be entertained.

We're planning on taking our at the time 23 month old daughter. She loves fish and still hasn't learned to be picky about food so she'll eat pretty much anything.

Thank you ChitownFamily for sharing those links!

Our kids first trip when was my youngest was 23 months. My DH and I love Epcot and went there just like any park. To me a vacation is for the whole family and everyone should get to enjoy the things that they like - not cater to just the kids. My kids are now 13 and 10 and they have always enjoyed Epcot.

Just to add.....in my opinion, Epcot has the nicest baby care center of all the parks too ;)

Exactly :thumbsup2

I tell people all the time, until my kids get jobs and can pay for themselves, the vacations are not about them, they are about the whole family ;) My husband and I love Epcot, so we go whether they like it or not.

That being said, there is tons for them to see and do in Epcot, so many nooks and crannies and little things to explore here. I actually like it better with toddler age kids because it is more open, wider walkways, less hectic, etc. Just much more relaxing to tour with little ones. My kids have always liked Epcot (probably their second favorite behind MK) since they were babies.

We were at F&G a few years ago and entered Epcot through the Back entrance by Beach Club (which also has character breakfast) it was just as the park opened and as we came past the one playground Peter Pan and Wendy were there. My kids had 20 mins of playing with them alone! It was awesome to see them interacting with characters! There are a lot of characters throughout Epcot and also very entertaining street performers. Definitely add Epcot to your list! They also have some great attractions and a lot to do in innoventions for all ages.

My kids' first trip together, they were 2 and 4. They both agreed that Epcot was and still is our favorite park! They absolutely loved it so much! My son would ask to go into the big "golf ball" several times!

My husband and I just had a nice time strolling around, enjoying the snacks and drinks, and the kids had a ball making the little masks (we loved doing them at the Kidcot Fun Stops - now they have Duffy but we loved the masks) - they also liked seeing the things like candy sold from other countries.

They spent hours at the living seas too! I had to drag them out of there.

They also used to find really fun things to do at Innoventions all the time. There's a fire safety house where the kids learn about fire safety, and my DD still likes to do it (it's really designed for toddlers to really young kids, but she doesn't want to grow up!).

We still go to Epcot almost every day when we to to Disney!

Thanks for all the input! I will definitely include Epcot in my plans!

:thumbsup2

A lot of people skip Epcot thinking there isn't anything for the little ones but it's been my DD's favorite park since she was 2. She loves everything from SE to Innoventions, The Seas to the countries (she's obsessed with accents and learning about different cultures :confused3). It's definitely not MK but there really is so much for kids to learn and enjoy.
