Should I book AAA rate for POR, or hold out?

I booked a AAA rate for August for POR for $119.20 a night. They said I had a PIN code attached to my account, but it might have been a really lousy one since they said AAA was a better discount. Is that a good rate for August? I am on a shoestring budget, and it doesn't look like one of those elusive 40% off discounts are meant to be (for me). WWYD?

Seems like that may be 20% off with the AAA discount, which is not entirely dismal! As long as you keep in mind the cancellation policy for whatever way you booked it (room only = better cancel options), you could cancel or change if something better comes along.

since I am paying $185 plus change after tax at the end of March into April that rate looks positively cheap to me! Best AAA rate I can get right now is $95 a night for a value!

I would so love a code!

Yes, I would book that rate. It is the typical 20% discount rate that AAA offers during value season. You can book a room only ressie with the AAA discount through Disney. Keep watching the boards in the up coming months in case there is a public discount on a room only that is better than your current deal. If there is one, just call and apply the code to your existing ressie.

Last year, we stayed at POR and really enjoyed it. You will love the grounds surrounding POFQ. We would frequently stroll along the river down to POFQ.

Good luck.

If free dining comes out will you not qualify if you book through AAA?

I'm not sure if this is an issue or not. I'm just curious because we had booked through AAA a couple years ago and then had to cancel and rebook through Disney in order to use the dining plan.

candemsmom,

Interesting question. I have read on the boards 2 different accounts of what can happen. One scenerio is that you can't double dip when it comes to discounts. You would have to pick one (room discount) or the other (free dining). I have also read about someone saying that they were in fact able to keep the room discount and get free dining. I am not 100% sure who is right.

Maybe other disboarders can share some light on the posing question by candemsmom.
