Should I be expecting stuff like this more often?

We have receieved them after every cruise starting in 2014. We have all 5 and a couple of duplicates now. We have also receieved the magnets for each level of CC. I think it has something to do with your email address and how you note whether you would like to receive promotional items and news from Disney on your Disney account.

We have also had things arrive after our resort stays as well.

Hmm, never received magnet for gold Guess it gives platinum another think to look forward to.

You could very well still get either or pretty soon. We got our platinum magnet right after the tenth cruise but another art card after the 11th.
And we got the gold magnet after the 6th cruise and an art card after the 5th. lol

We have sailed 5 times and have never received Anything either. No silver magnet, no gold, no art cards. Nothing. My parents have always sailed with us (and more on their own). I'm pretty sure they received a silver magnet, but don't think they have received anything more.

Same here -- done 10 cruises and the only thing we ever got was a Castaway Club packet with our membership cards after our first cruise. Nothing since!

I'll just repeat - the program just started in Feb 2014. Any cruises prior to that did not receive any "gifts" after the cruise.

After Feb 2014, whatever status you were at determined what gift you might receive. Also, again, the gifts are hit or miss. My experience - the program started before our 7th cruise, when were already gold. We received the Gold magnet almost immediately (2 of them). We hadn't taken a cruise in the previous 2 years. Then, after our 7th, 8th, and 9th cruises (all taken in the same month) we received two identical art cards. After our 10th cruise we received the Platinum magnet (1 this time).

In keeping with how the program, in theory, is supposedly running, we should have 4 art cards, and a Platinum magnet only.

I've read that people have, after waiting for a bit, have contacted the Castaway Club after returning and requesting their "gift".

In theory, that's how it should work. Now, whether you actually get the magnet (or anything else) at all......we'll see.

The Mickey isn't part of the thank you program for the Castaway Club. Only the art cards showing different artist's renditions of the ships.

If you receive a "milestone" gift (a magnet), you don't get an art card.

The drawn Mickey is usually a thank you for staying at a Disney Resort. They have a number of different characters, but we mostly have gotten Mickeys.

The art cards are a bit random. We've done four cruises and have received the silver magnet and two art cards. No idea why we didn't get one after cruise number 2, but, as Schmoo said, they can be a bit hit or miss.

Correct. They don't send them overseas. I'm not sure about Canada, but definitely not to Australia, New Zealand, or the UK.

Hard to say. The whole thing is so random in what they do or do not send. When the program started we were already Gold (had been for a couple years/cruises) and we received 2 Gold magnets (even though we hadn't taken a cruise yet).

When we reached Platinum, we got only 1 magnet.

So, who knows?

Did the two people who just reached platinum each get a magnet? Or just one magnet for the two?
