Should I avoid extra Magic hours?

We have gone to Disney twice once in April when the extra magic hours were great! They saved us alot of time at the parks, but our second trip we went in January when the parks were almost empty and found the parks were alot busier on Magic Days. We are going in September and plan on going to the AK on magic day but can't decide if we should with the other parks? Especially MGM? Please help!

it really depends on the crowd, last April 05 we were at the WORLD and alot had used it but if you got the package tickets/dining and not worried about your tickets emh or no emh your going to be OK

When we do the EMH we usually go at EMH opening, then stay about 3-4 hours and park hop. You can do a lot early if you can get there. If you don't have park hoppers then go early and pace your day with fast pass lunch and dinner and the lesser attraction in between.
