food and wine festival if I want to only go to future world???

Also, we're planning to see Epcot Friday, Sept. 30, the first day of F&WF. Will it be crowded at both FW and WS??

I hear the first weekend is VERY busy but, I doubt Friday will be as bad as Saturday and Sunday. I'd skip it if I could because we are at WDW for 8 days but... We are going to EPCOT Saturday becasue, my husband and his brother are doing Dive Quest. My BIL,SIL and nephiew are only in for Fri-Sun. so we are semi-sticking together. They want to tour EPCOT on Sat. We have dinner reservations in France because, I didn't want to fight the lines at the Food and Wine Festival. We were there for the last weekend of the festival last year and it was pretty busy. We still had a nice time and the lines were not too bad for the food late in the afternoon but, we did opt to skip some samples we really did want to try because of lines later in the evening. But, hey its Disney. We had a good attitude so, we had a good time!
Regarding FW, you may want to watch the fastpass times for the big rides, they sometimes run out of fastpasses by noon on some rides. So you could be pulling a fastpass to ride TT at 11 am or something. I would say it is a sure thing for Soarin'. I'd say Friday will not be as busy as Saturday in any part of EPCOT.

Thanks for the advice!

We're not interested in participating in F&WF but didn't want the crowds to interfere with exploring the rest of the park. We have LeCellier for dinner so will stick with the Friday. Perhaps we'll tour WS in the afternoon, get fastpasses for TT & soarin for evening and hang out there. We'll definitely have a plan.

Have a good time!

Hi there,

We are in a similar situation. Our working itinerary includes epcot on Saturday, Oct. 1. We have another day there earlier in the week (wed., I think) when we'll stay thru illuminations. On Saturday we will finish up future world, then do our aquatour, then head back to the resort for dinner at Kona. I'm hoping that by being at epcot at opening, and using UG plans, we will still have a pleasant morning, with not too many crowds. See you in the Living Seas!

NB

Look like a lot of us are in this bind.

We are arriving Friday Sept 30 and planning on heading to Epcot late afternoon / evening and in the morning of Sat Oct 1.

Here is what i figured out. I will be doing World Showcase on the Fri afternoon and evening. There isn't much to see with a 2 year old so we can skip the country movies etc. We'll just do the Kidcot stuff and check everything out and watch illuminations.

On Sat morning we will be up bright and early to hit the Future World stuff and get it all done by 2pm and then get out of there !!!!!

Only problem is i have a Le Cellier ADR for Sat and i can't for the life of me switch around to the Fri, so we'll have to come back !!!

I hear it is really bad the sat and sun in the afternoon and evening. Packed !!! So get there early if you want to ride the big ones.

PS Living seas is closed for refurbishment i think until Nov :guilty:
