Should I Add-On Now or Wait for a Deal?

We're planning on adding just 25 points to our SSR account. Right now they are not offering any deals or rewards. If memory serves, last year Disney was offering park tickets with any add-on

Does anyone have an opinion as to whether I should wait and see?

Did anyone get something when they added on?

Thanks!

Add-on incentives are rare. I think the Annual Passes that were given last year were for 100 or 120+ points, not 25. Also 25 points doesn't qualify you for any financing, it has to be at least 50 points to finance through Disney.

If you are looking for only a 25 point add-on, I would not wait.

Unfortunately, no incentives for smaller add-ons... right now it's 100+ to get the $8 off per point.

I too heard that add-on incentives are rare, but are almost always restricted to 100 or more points.

I agree with the earlier posts... you aren't getting an incentive with 25 points. So I would add on beforet the price goes up!!!

Yikes - we're thinking about adding on about 25 as well - do you think the price will go up again soon and this is something we should be concerned about?

:confused3

Thanks!

For add-ons, I would never assume the price will get better. I think the price only goes up.

I don't know if this is a reply to me or the OP but if for me, I would never have assumed the price would go down, we were just going to wait until we take our trip next June to do our add-on (if we do DVC directly) but I'm not really familiar with the pricing history for DVC as far as how often the prices go up.

I know that I'm in a fairly hot housing market where I live (I know it's not the same thing but just for comparisons sake) - I've looked at the same property off and on for a year now (a new housing development) and the price has gone up 4 times in that same time period - I've almost been priced out of what I can afford just by waiting.

Just don't want the same thing to happen to a potential add-on for DVC!

Thanks!

I don't know the pricing history of increases, but I would imagine that the chances of a price increase between now and next June would be pretty high.

We've been members since 1999. As far as I can recall, Disney has given members advance notice of the price increases.

IMHO, no one need "panic buy" because they are afraid the price will go up. There will be time for that after DVC announces the increase. :teeth:

Best wishes-

Thanks everyone for the great ideas. We had been advised in the past about the price increases, so we really weren't worried about that.

I guess I was just making sure I'm not going to miss out on anything!

We may just buy now, since our agent said we can bank the points for next year even if our deadline has passed. And we may look into Timeshare Store resales, if we can get the same use year. And if I don't buy the 25 points soon, I'm sure to spend the money on something else and then regret it.
