Hi

We are really excited as we have just paid for the holiday yipee! Now all we need to do is to arrange the spending money!

We went shopping today and bought loads of shorts and t-shirts for the children. It just occured to me will it be hot enough? We normally go May or peak summer. This time of year is completely new. We also bought some light coats and a couple of trousers for the evening. We are mostly concerned did we need to buy shorts or do we really need to buy trousers instead.

I hope you can help me and point me in the right direction.

We are so excited, sorry to be asking these questions so early. I noticed all the summer clothes are in sale and they are now bring out autumn/winter range. :confused3

Best Regards
Michelle

Hi
We've been in October/November a few times and it's always been warm enough for shorts. Occasionally need long trousers and maybe a long sleeved top in the evening, but mostly justs shorts and t-shirts.
Have a lovely holiday! :flower:

Definitely warm enough - we've been three times in October & once in November.

However, you may need "insurance policy" of a jacket, light jumper or simlar for evenings as these can be notably cooler, but only like a UK summer evening.

Enjoy your trip, see you there!?! ::MickeyMo

Ive always been in November and its always been very hot, it cools down at night but all you need is a jumper or light jacket.

Yes, we go to Florida every November, and the weather is usually glorious. Just one or two colder than usual days (weather probably in mid - high 60's), and it can get a little cooler in the evenings, but nothing a hoodie or long sleeved t-shirt won't sort. Enjoy it!

Oh yes it will be hot enough for shorts. It's usually in the 80's around then not to mention the Sun really bares down on you. Though you could get away with wearing pants and such, as it tends to cool down more at night.

We have beenin October a few times and it is warm enough for shorts- I would bring a jacket for the evenings though!!!

Hi!

We went last October and needed shorts every day! Not even a jacket for the evenings!

We didnt take enough shorts and had to do a couple of washloads out there!

Yes, take shorts!!!

Good God! you are English arn't you?
Of course its warm enough for shorts!
You know the rulkes, as a Brit it is warm enough to wear shorts even when it is snowing, but you MUST wear socks, it does not do to scare the natives you know!
When the locals are all wrapped up in coats and scarves, then you can walk around in your shorts knowing how supoerior we are to the freindly natives :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :earboy2: :earboy2: :earboy2: :earboy2: :earboy2: :earboy2: :earboy2: :earboy2: :earboy2: :earboy2: :earboy2: :earboy2: :earboy2: :earboy2: :earboy2: :earboy2: :earboy2: :earboy2:

In alls eriousness, yes, even in November its warm enough for shorts, but you could have a day where the temperatures plummet, so what I do is use the trousers I flew in for those days.
I also have a nifty pair of trousers which I bought in Florida, which have zipped legs, so when warm, unzip the legs, when cold, put them back on again.

We were there last Oct/Nov and the weather was perfect for shorts & t'shirts, that is all we wore for the 2 weeks;)
The only time that it was chilly was on our last night when we were watching Wishes, we had to wear our jackets.

In previous years we've been there in Jan / Feb / March / April / Dec and ALWAYS wear shorts.

As a previous poster said it's quite amusing seeing the Floridians in coats, gloves, etc when you are more than comfortable in shorts and t-shirt.

Well, Ive just paid the balance on our trip and off there in 70 days and counting. We've got a group of 7 ages ranging from 58 to 2 and we are all determined to wear our shorts in September & October. Lets hope the locals are not scared too easily.......

I'am also going in October and not even bothering with trousers or any sort of jumper/jacket, ive checked the average lows in the evenings for that time of year and its still around 65-70, to me thats still nice for shorts.

thanks for replying didn't really have a clue what to take, off there for 3 weeks, can't wait, first time with all the children

I'am only going to travel in trousers, the minute we get there they are going in the suit case for the whole 3 weeks.

Travelling in trousers is a good idea, guess who was the only bloke in Schipol airport in shorts in November!
:guilty: :guilty: :guilty:

Obi nails it 100%

Travel pants are the answer, pants on the way and unleash the white lightening legs when I get there via a zip like mechanism. ;)
