Ok ladies. I've lost quite a bit of weight in the past year and a half and am officially OUT of the Plus Size clothing ranges:banana:

But I am having the darndest ti9me finding shorts/crops that fit. My waist can fit into a size 14 NP. My hips however are curvy and meed something a stitch wider. I was in Old Navy today and tried a pair of crops on. Perfect length. Not quite perfect in the in-seam. And if I breathed in the waist wanted to fall down on me. Thank Goodness for the hips:lmao:

I really need decent spring clothes, so where do y'all buy your shorts? Am I destined to have to hit a tailor:confused:

Hit a tailor. The small price makes everything look like you spent a lot more.

I have an hourglass figure and I find that Not Your Daughters Jeans fit me better than most.

I'm a Penny's shopper myself. I usually have good luck there.
Congrats on the weight loss!! :cheer2:

I'm not quite hourglass yet, at least I don't think so, but I finally found jeans to fit me. The Lee Riders for curves are to die for and the price was fantastic. Thank You Stacy London:worship::worship::rotfl2:

Congrats on the weight loss. I usually stick with Lands End. Their petite modern cut crops fit me really well. I have some shorts from Old Navy but I find the cut of their stuff isn't consistent. In Lands End I wear a 2P but with Old Navy I have shorts ranging from 0-6 because the cut is so whonky.

Congrats on the weight loss. I'm also looking for shorts. I have a much larger butt than waist.

I love Not Your Daughter's Jeans! I don't wear shorts, but my favorite pair of denim capris are Lee from Kohl's - they are stretchy so they give enough in the hips.

I'm really curvy, but I'm a cello - big curves, flat backside - and I've found that Aeropostale fits me perfectly. Those with true hourglass backside curves tell me it doesn't work so well for them. . .I think I've heard the Limited, maybe?

Ann Taylor Loft is cut for women (not juniors) and has a petite section. They are much cheaper than Ann Taylor and are constantly having sales where the whole store is 30-40% off.

Lee and Dockers both have capris and shorts with a "comfort waist band". It is a smooth elastic waistband that is VERY comfortable. I have never had a defined waist and have usually had to buy up a size in pants, but then you end up with baggy legs. These I can buy the right size, and often a size down because the waist stretches and then they fit everywhere. I get them at Kohl's. I have jeans, khakis, shorts, capris like this.

I have a size 8 waist and a size 12 behind. ;) The brands I wear most (for shorts and crops) are Dockers and Gloria Vanderbilt. I shop at Kohl's, but you can find those brands other places. In those brands, I wear a 10. They seem to be more ample in the "rear", and have a smaller waist.

Good luck!!

I'm telling you right now the best shorts for us curvy gals are the JCrew broken in boyfriend. I have three pairs for this summer. On the website they showed them rolled up of course but I leave mine unrolled so they are a little shorter than a bermuda would be. I love them. Good luck in your shorts search, I know it can be hard.

Ann Taylor Loft for pants and I found Gap shorts (cuffed shorts is what they are called on the website) that I love. They are kind of a boyfriend fit.

That's good cause I can't even afford Ann Taylor's outlet:rolleyes1 Looked in the shop in Rehoboth the last time i went up and Oh My Goodness it cost more than paying full price at Coldwater Creek, which I love:love:

But since I've lost weight I'm trying to expand my horizons a little to lower priced clothes for basics like shorts. Tried some on at Target with their new fit tags and I couldn't find any short in the curvy style:sad2:

Sign up for their emails. That way you'll know when a sale is going on. You can get really great deals when you look throught their clearance. Some of it (usually on a rack near the fitting room) is final sale, but it is so cheap! I have gotten dress pants, sweaters, etc. for under $5 a piece. Any chance you are as teacher? They offer a 15% off discount for them. Happy shopping, and congrats on the weight loss!

I have just recently been turned on to NYC and Company. They have some cute, reasonable Bermuda shorts for summer and if you join their "preferred" club the coupons are incredible. Last week they offered $40.00 off your $100.00 purchase and it was combinable with their Buy 2 Get 1 Free promo. Quite the deals!
