Shortening our stay

I have surgery coming up and a required pre-surgical appointment conflicts with our trip to Disney. I booked our resort room using the VISA discount offer that was available earlier in the spring. If I shorten our stay by one day (so check out the day before originally booked) will I have to re-book the entire stay at a new, higher rate? Or will Disney just edit our stay and not charge for that last day? Our "cancel by" date is in three days, so if I can't shorten the stay, I'll have to cancel it.

Best thing to do is call Disney and explain your situation. Hope your surgery goes well!

Only Disney knows for sure. Sometimes they will not honor a certain discount for different check in/check out dates. Sometimes they only have availabity for longer stays and not for shorter stays that are within those longer stays.

Thanks! I contacted a TA (don't usually use one but I really like her) and she was able to get our reservation shortened by one day without any rate change. YAY! Not that I'm glad to have a shortened vacation, but at least we'll be able to go. Now, on to airfare (Frontier, I'm looking at you...)
