Shortened Voyage of the Little Mermaid?

I have been hearing recently that part of the VOTLM was cut? Does anyone know when this happened and exactly what was cut? When I saw it last month, I didn't really notice it was any shorter. But now that I think about it...............

Saw it Feb 8 and it was the same.

I've always thought it was too short to begin with. You go from Ariel giving up her voice to the end of the story in about 30 seconds. They go through 45 minutes of the movie in the blink of an eye. They need to add one more sequence in there IMO.

During the last rehab, they removed a scene of Triton (in laser form) telling Sabastain to look out for Ariel. In that scene's place now is a scene of Ariel arguing with her father.

As far as the length of the show, it's on the short side so they can do it many different times in one day. Because of the size of the theater, if the show was as long as Beauty and the Beast or Festival of the Lion King, they would not be able to get enough people through the show every day. There was a rumor that they were trying to add "Kiss the Girl" into the show during the last rehab but that didn't happen.

I'm not looking to know WHY it was cut, rather WHAT was cut out? Any cast members out there know exactly?

Umm... maybe you missed the first part of my previous post, but I already told you what was changed.

Also, Ariel sings the entire "Part of your World" instead of the arrangement created for the show. The hands that used to take Ariel's voice and pass it on to Urlsula are no longer there. Ariel's rocks (the one she sits on and the one the transformation takes place on) are also new.
