We're staying at the Anabella Hotel and walking to the parks. I've heard that when you walk up Disneyland Drive, you can take a shortcut through the Grand Californian to get to the main ticket hub. Where is the entrance and where do you exit?

The entrance to the hotel is across from the PPH off Disneyland Drive. Once in the hotel follow the signs to DTD. Once you're in DTD take a right to walk to the Esplanade. Coming back from DTD the entrance is by Studio 365 (Hannah Montana wannabe makeover place).

You enter the Grand through their normal, big, impressive, doors. Just follow the road up (note: it's not a straight line, and if you use your fave satellite city map site you can see that the sidewalks on either side create a huge "hidden" Mickey...something I looked up after staying at Anabella and having my feet wonder why it was so curvy!), turn into the Grand's area, and follow along to the main entrance.

Along with Studio 365, the other flanking shop is Sephora, and it's across the mall from Haagen Dasz. :)

I hope you enjoy the Anabella! We like it.

Thanks for the quick replies!

I checked out the satellite view...very cool hidden mickey:thumbsup2 Can't wait to show it to my girls.

We are really looking forward to the Anabella. It looks like it's a little more 'special' than the basic hotels in the area. We have two DD's that are 19 and 23. We wanted something more 'resortish'...and the Tangerine Grill and Patio looks so relaxing

However Crazy Duck.....february is the perfect time to escape winter in Canada. 65 degrees farenheit is shorts and sandals weather:cool1:

We are staying at PPH. Can you cut through the Grand Californian to get to DL before DCA opens or is it better to just go around?

Yes, and it saves a lot of time. Go out the PPH and onto Disneyland Drive. At the corner just north of the PPH cross the street and follow the sidewalk into the GCH.

Aslo since you are staying onsite, available to you all day is the GCH entrance into DCA. For non Disney guests this can be limited in the morning. As you walk into the GCH go along the lobby and make a right along the back edge of it to the DCA entrance.

I would love to go this month the temp here are -50.

Hi Princess, I see that you are from my neck of the woods! We haven't been as cold as you, although I used to live in Fairbanks/North Pole and know about those kinds of temps, but it's still cold enough here, that I totally agree with you, can't wait until next month, I'm heading down there and am very excited! Just started my own travel agency from home, so part of the time I'll be attending a travel seminar, but I don't care, at least I'll be out of the freezing cold here! :rotfl2:

Yes Realmouse, you sure can, we are staying at the PPH and have in the past many times and the best bet is to go through GC through their private entrance!

What skiingfast said! My sentiments exactly...it's quicker, not to mention, you get to enjoy the beautiful lobby of the GCH! I love the atmosphere, and hope to stay there someday! Have fun!!

Obviously, we love going in February. Temperatures are just right, especially compared to what we are leaving behind. It makes the winters go a little faster:woohoo: Wait times for attractions are great. Unfortunately, we have a retail business in a tourist town...busy summer and Christmas.
....but yes, we do want to eventually check out the parks in another season, hopefully Halloween and Christmas time
