Shortages

Not strictly WDW related, although depending on how $ our next trip may be it certainly could be , but I was at my Ontario LCBO at noon today and stock of imported wine very short esp from Australia, NZ and South Africa. I'm not talking $$ vintages stuff but your basic $12 off the shelf table wine. Way beyond fronting the shelf and gaps. My store had clustered what they had together leaving shelves wide open. Manager told me that LCBO just can't get the volume of shipments they need into the stores, via their distributors, because shipping backed up. Just a heads up for those who want to put a few bottles away esp for the holidays. You might want to do it sooner rather than later.

I manage a large big box store. I can tell you it’s super difficult and we have been told it’s going to be like this for a while.

This is why the majority of my Christmas shopping is already done. I've been hearing about a lot of shortages and I can't say I expect it to improve closer to Christmas.

My parents told me they would be giving everyone cash this year... I hope the groceries we buy don't run out. Kiddo is very particular.

The supply chain is really being tested right now. I couldn’t even find a cloth tablecloth for Thanksgiving. The store says whatever is in the store is from last years storage.

I already told my kids cash only for Christmas this year.

We don’t have any big ticket items that we are trying to find for Christmas this year luckily. We are slowly but surely ordering what we need . We also plan to go into the stores this weekend and try to pick up some things.

The goal is to be done as soon as possible because I think it’s going to get worse. I did order an ipad directly from Apple and it was a 6 week order time if that tells you anything.

Thankfully Christmas is light this year since we are going on a trip the week after.

I went looking for a few things at Canadian Tire yesterday.
I guess you could say I was a bit disappointed ,,,lots of the past two years stock but not much new.
I did manage to grab 2 rolls of fake snow for my Grinch Village and even that was low in stock.
Shop early and *make do with what you have* is how I'll proceed this year.
