Monday I spent all day at conference. I was supposed to go back Monday night for the awards dinner and to see Richard Jena (Jeni? some comedian) perform, but instead as soon as the last session was over, I headed out for the outlet malls. I OF COURSE neglected to bring my directions to Beliz and Premier, but I remembered one of them being at the end of I Drive at the opposite end of the Convention Center (guess I read those directions a few too many times). Made it up to Beliz and found 3 sets of matching shirts for DH and I for Nov - I'm short and he loses me, so I figured if we dressed alike it might help. Left Beliz in a downpour and made it back to Vineland where I had seen the sign for Premier (sheer luck). Bought nothing there but ate a good stuffed pizza in the food court.
Tuesday I was scheduled for 4 more classes. Don't ANYONE tell Best Software, but instead at 7:10 I was at MGM waiting in line for Early Morning since the Hilton participates in that... We were let in about 7:50, then waited for the rope drop. I again grabbed a RNRC FP before getting in line, still made the first group through. Came out and did TOT and this time I LOVED my drop sequence. Back to RNRC - last time this trip, sniff. From there I attempted to get to the Poly for my 9:40 PS, but missed the road right after the MK entrance and had to go around again, since I wasn't sure WHERE I had missed it. Took a pic of a family on my way in (Dad was trying to take the pic and I offered - they were thrilled) and just made my PS, but there were plently of tables. Had Tonga Toast - another one on my list. Been there, done that, probably never do it again.
Then I spent some time timing drives between resorts for LaughingPlace.com. I'm amazed at how close together some of them are. Decided to try to find Old Key West and ended up at Epcot instead. Ok, so I zeroed in on Kristos (on my list). Missed their first show because I couldn't figure out where the Plaza was. Hmph. Went to the Land and rode the boat ride - it was raining like crazy while we were in there. Then did Circle of Life and cried during most of it. (I also cry when Bob Barker says "Come on down"..., but you have to admit that baby moose or whatever it was that falls over really gets to you.)
Rain was over by then so I wandered back by where Kristos had been and this time they were late! I almost moved on, figuring I had missed them again, but then I heard the intro and came back. Wandered about the World after that, but it was so hot and muggy from the rain that I had no interest in anything. I was glad DH wasn't with me, because I could feel the "heat *****iness" coming on and if he had been there, I would have found a reason to bite his head off, I could tell. Back through Mouse Gears to cool off, then left Epcot. It was about 2, so I figured I'd go eat at Olivia's. Went around and around twice trying to find Old Key West (when I was there Sat/Sun I passed it umpteen times - had they moved it????) and finally ended up at AKL and got a map and directions from the security guard. I didn't peek at AKL - DH and I are staying in Nov and I want it to be a first for both of us at the same time.
Got to Olivia's and walked right in - there was only one other family in there at the time. Served promptly and left within 35 minutes. Checked a little more mileage, then back to the Hilton to shower. Walked over to DTD from the Hilton (SUCH an easy walk) and shopped a while, but found nothing I needed. I really WANTED that Captain Kirk shirt they were offering at Starabillia for $28,000, though. I had to call DH as soon as I left that place and tell him about that one. Told him I bought it and was having it shipped home that day.
Ate at Cap'n Jack's but was so worn out by then that I didn't eat all that much. Drug back to the hotel and crashed early into bed - but watched some schlock on Fox to put me to sleep (I never watch TV). I had already changed my flight to leave a day earlier - my heart just wasn't into staying down there without DH. Managed to get a 9:30 AM flight out of Orlando and got home about 3 pm. DH had brought one of the dog-babies with him - the other 7 were very glad to see their mommy get home.
Would I go by myself again? In a heartbeat. I would go earlier in May, though, to hopefully not have quite the heat, or in the fall, and I would only do so if it was scheduled to be just me in the first place. There was too much guilt for having scheduled a trip together (and DH does SO love WDW and we have such a good time together) and then going by myself. But now that we are DVC members - I may just schedule a quick trip sometime!
