Short Term Planning

Due to my job, which I won't reveal here, I do not get the same vacation year to year. It is also based on seniority within my working group. We also don't start getting the opportunity to pick until OCT/NOV timeframe each year, which leads me to my question...

I am currently looking at coming to WDW in February 2024 during President's Day week with my family. Nothing has been booked yet as it is still up in the air. So, it looks like I will only have two-three months if I get that week to start planning. Will the prices be jacked a little because of the short turnaround time? Or because of the holiday week? It's certainly not spur of the moment planning so I'm hoping to not pay too much more to stay on property.

If you book a week that includes a holiday, the prices (and crowds) will be higher, regardless of when you book.

Disney sets its prices the year before and both ticket prices and hotel prices vary based on day of the week, time of year, and holidays. Prices are lowest at times that are typically slow - like the end of summer - and are higher during more popular times such as holidays and school vacations.

The prices for 2024 are already out and one the website so you can plug in your dates and see prices for the hotels and tickets.

If you know tentative dates now, you can always plug them in and price out a trip. The sooner you book, the better as no one knows if ticket pricing will increase. I book last minute trips all the time (I'm planning trips now for Nov. and Dec.) I have resorts booked, but am always checking for new resort availability and for resorts/room categories to pop up in the discount inventory (the closer I get to the November trip, the more rooms pop up as people seem to be canceling). I would just book as soon as you know your dates or even book a trip now and modify your dates if your expected week doesn't pan out.
