My dd14 is in 8th grade and we have recently discovered (through testing) that she has short term memory problems. She was tested both at school and with her Neuro/Developmental Doc.

She has an IEP for school. She has ADD.
This is the last paragraph in her report form school.
I am hoping someone here could help me figure out how to help her!!

The results of the cognitive assessment indicates that _____'s working memory is a relative academic strength; she is able to hold information in her immediate awareness and congitively act upon it in an efficient manner provided she is familiar with the information.

Her cognitive efficiency, however, is a relative weakness; her ability to use and follow through with new information is compromised relative to her peers.

Likewise, her short term memory is a relative weakness. ______ will have to use her rehearsal techniques to improve her short term memory. The implications of ______ cognitive functioning suggest _______ will have to put forth extra effort to gain and maintain academic proficiencies as the demands of her school work increase.

She is in 8th grade and most of our IEP meeting the other day was to talk about these test results and plan her HS career. We never really went into HOW myself and dh can help her.
I was hoping someone here may be able to give me some ideas.
Thanks!
