Short Jan 2012 trip. Shh, it's a secret...

So after missing DW since the moment we left it October 2010, my mom and I are taking the kids to DW this January. We land late on Friday the 20th. Leave about noon on Thursday the 26th. So exited, the kids won't know until Christmas. (DH decided to stay behind for ice fishing... )

Anyway, this will be a quick trip to visit favorites and what we missed last time, so hopefully 5 days in the parks will be fine. We're staying POP preferred. Free QSDP starts on Saturday.

Here's a rough plan. Depending on how we feel, we may sneak more park hopping.

HS isn't a priority since we saw everything we wanted to last time except TSM. Have to hit that first thing. We'll have half a day there, as DS and DD love Pizza Planet.

This will be the first trip with my mom on a scooter. We used a wheelchair for her last time, but I'm just not up for it this time around. We have a holder for her rollator walker, so I hope between those two things work out.

I usually like to try to visit a resort or two. I haven't seen POR or POFQ, so I'd like to see those this time. It's such a short stay, though, that I don't know if we'll make it. I'd also like to vist WL and maybe FW. Depending on how we feel, we may stop at BW or BC on our way between HS and EP. But I doubt it. With the amount of time we have, I think most relaxing will be at the parks themselves. We'll just have to see how it goes.

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend.

The kids had a wonderful surprise yesterday. My mom wrapped a disney gift card for each and those mailers you get when you make a reservation with DW. (She's paying for their part). It was so cute seeing them read it and watching them figure it out. "Are we going to Disney? Seriously? Are you kidding me? ... " Too funny. Then, like an hour later, "Can we ride soarin?" Sure. A little later, "What time do we get there?" Around dinner time. "Can we watch the DVD" ... It was really neat. It's been hard keeping this secret for a few months. But totally worth it.

Prices on SW flights from MKE to MCO went back down. I was able to add 2 days to the end of our trip! Yeah! I'm so jazzed right now. Even though the free dining offer is over, we were able to extend our existing reservation with it. Wow! So glad I called!

I can't help myself. I'm checking accuweather now. I know it's not accurate. It's two weeks out; how can it be? But I still can't help it. It's changed the last three days. Now our Sunday is supposed to be 79 and sunny. Yesterday it was supposed to be in the 60s with rain.

I guess I do it because it's fun
