I know this is early as my wedding is 18 months away but...I have short hair..really short hair and I went to see my stylist the other day and told her I was getting married. Her first questin was "Are you going to grow out your hair for the wedding?" I told her no but now she has got me thinking... because I would have to start growing it out now to get it long enough for the wedding.

Are there any brides out there with short hair that had it short for their wedding? Any pictures?

Thanks!

Look for JandJ's trip report - she had short hair, and it looked GREAT for her wedding. :thumbsup2

Also, you could check out the mothers of the brides in some DISers' trippies, since many of them have short hair and get it done by a cosmetologist for the wedding.

I say you should go with whatever you're most comfortable with, rather than feeling like you have to conform to the traditional idea of how a bride's hair should look. :)

I've seen several Disney brides with cute short hair styles. I remember one had a simple decorative hair band-- it looked very sophisticated and elegant!

If you want to then grow it..if not don't worry about it..there are plenty of things you can do to make short hair look formal.....even if it is to your shoulder you can still get it up some how....When I do people with short hair for weddings and they want an updo I pin it up some how to make it look like they have a lot of hair.

A hair stylist did this for me when I had way shorter hair. She put some pins in it and then glued all the hair with hairspray. It looked like I had long hair in an updo! :rotfl:

I think short hair will work just fine. Have you seen Autumn in NY, when Winona Ryder goes to the reception in tha gorgeous dress? She has short hair then, and it looks very glamourous!

I have a tiara and a veil to wear so I think that will look great with it.

Ahh..I never thought about that. I will have play with it and see what happens! Thanks!

That's great to know scubaminnie! Thank you for letting me know. When is your wedding? If you are before me, could you send me pics of how everything turned out?

Ours is October 16th at Yacht Club Gazebo

Would be happy to post pics etc after. I already went for a "trial run" with her and she did a nice job...considering there arent many options for short hair :duck:
I even picked up a couple of clips, pins, headbands etc at Claires in the mall and took those with me to the trial to have inspiration so we could try a couple of things.

I am growing my hair out. I had just finally gotten it cut off right before our trip in May. Oh i was so happy!! It had been almost 2 yrs since i had gotten it cut and it was driving me nuts! Right now it's about chin lenght. We get back from vacation, and I sighed and told dh i was going to have to grow my hair out again. :( He just rolled his eyes. Long hair just fits my "picture" of the perfect day. Beautiful flowing dress, tropical flowers, sunset, and a sparkling tiara in my flowing hair. Of course, my hair grows as slow as molasses in January, so we're talking MAYBE mid-back.:)

I am just so torn because my DF loves my hair long (chin length in his eyes) and I love my hair short. :worried: I just can't see growing my hair long and just putting it up in an updo which is basically what short hair is. Aahhh! I don't know.

On top of that I tried my tiara on tonight with my hair curly (I usually wear it straight) and it just didn't look right. So, now I am really worried. :worried:
