Hi Folks,

Anyone got any experience of taking short cab rides in Orlando?

We would like to both have a wee drink at DTD, especially at Raglan Road, but it is only 2.5miles from our hotel in LBV.

Are cabbies generally happy to do short runs so long as the tip is kept decent or do they take a similar attitude to taxi drivers at our airports that they would rather not take a short trip in case a big one comes along and they miss it.

2.5 miles doesnt sound like much but i dont fancy walking it after a couple of drinks :)

Well, sure they would prefer longer runs but the cabbies around Disney World are used to short runs. Many, many people take a taxi between their hotels and Downtown Disney. So I wouldn't worry about it. And by law, they must take you where you want to go. You might also ask at your hotel if they have a free shuttle. Many of the larger resorts do.

cost me $8 from the Boardwalk to DTD last week .....thought that was reasonable.......if your at LBV it should be in the same region.......H

ta, wasnt sure if it was the done thing or not.

We always tip on the high side so it will be worth their while :)

I think its quite common to be honest.

There has been many times when we have visited the Parks through the Disney Bus Transportation but then looked at the queue at the end of the night to go "home" on the bus and though we'd pay the Taxi cost instead of queueing.

Never had any problems whatsoever, you'll be fine:thumbsup2

I was also wondering if we got a cab to and from walmart from okw how much do you think that would be
