Hello there! Hope everyone is okay, it's a long time since I posted, but seeing as though my December visit is just around the corner :cool1: , I have a question that I hope someone can answer for me.....

This is the first visit to Disney that I am doing without a car :moped: (first visit on my own with two younger sisters :earsgirl: :earsgirl: , that still don't know that they are going!!! so i didn't fancy the extra stress of having to pick up a car and drive everywhere)

How much will it cost to go from WDW Wilderness Lodge :paw: , to the Premium Outlet Mall and Mall of Mallinia in a taxi? I know that I can get the front desk to arrange for a taxi out of the hotel, but is it easy to order a taxi to come back?? :confused3

Any answers greatly received!!

My son and his girlfriend were at OKW without a car in August - they were quoted $50 EACH way to the Premium Outlet. Needless to say they decided not to go! Mall at Millenia is a long way up I4 and would cost quite a bit more.

What about the cheap option? We always head over to the MK and get on the monorail to the Transportation centre. We take the Lynx No 50 to stop 38 and then cross the road to take the I Ride south to Premium. Its easy and cheap and the TC buses leave at 18 mins past and 48 mins to the hour.

Hubby had to take a taxi to the airport MCO from Disney (long story car keys got lost ) it cost him a $100 return. so if you are thinking of going to the mall beside there you are talking about the same

We went from POR on New Years Day this year, Bell sevices got us a cab. It was $12 one way - metered, but $24 back as the traffic was terrible.

We did this last time to those two malls from the BCV. We used Mears and it was actually very reasonable. The driver gave us a number to phone when we had finished and he came to pick us up and take us to the next place. For us this worked really well.

We had a nightmare with Mears in April they left us stranded at Florida Mall.

We will be there in december too, ive hired a car for 2 days to go shopping as I dont trust Mears and taxis are expensive.

I was carless last year on my solo trip (as I don't drive I thought this would be the best idea ;)

I did my shopping at the premium mall, took a taxi from DTD as I couldn't find a bus, it was $10. The driver gave me a card with a number to call for the ride back, but there were plenty of taxi's there. I took the taxi back to OKW and it was a bit more $12 or $14.

I didn't find this too expensive. Taxi's over here cost at least 3x as much. And if there are 3 of you it's even cheaper.

which dates are you going looby, we will be at the WL from 21st Dec- 1st Jan.

Wow I forgot how quickly you guys reply!!! Thanks for the responses, there does seem to be some huge differences in prices though!!

As we are only going for a week, I am now thinking that I might call Virgin and see if I can add the car to the booking - £140 for the week seems doable and the better option if I am going to get charged $100 each way just to go to the Mall of Mallinia which I want to do to get some Jimmy Choo shoes!!!

Plus the added benefit of having the car should we decide to do anything different 1 week is short enough without having to wait for public transport and as a family we are very good at being very late!!! :rotfl:

What do you think??? :listen:

Emily1982 - We are only there for a week and leave on the day that you arrive :sad1:
