Hello, a couple of questions
1) there seems far too much choice so does anyone have any preferences as to where to head for the days shopping we will be doing? I am thinking souvernirs and bargains more than top designer gear
2) what type of products should we buy? I ask this as a friend said to me yesterday to make sure we buy Ibupofen as it is much cheaper and they buy 500 or so to last for a couple of :artist:years. This would never have occurred to me and not sure what the customs position is but any savings can then be used to part justify the trip!

thanks in advance

ooh..shopping. I love shopping:goodvibes

I think maybe the Premium Outlets maybe the place to go by what you are saying. There are two of them, one at Vineland and one at the top end of International Drive. It sort of depends what sort of souvenirs though. If you want Disney/Universal then yes the outlets have discount stores for them (although its very hit and miss what you will find), if you want 'Orlando/Florida' type souvenirs then I-drive is full of stores for that (they also do Disney/Universal but not the 'official' stuff).

Yes drugs are cheaper out there but really I don't think its that much of a bargin with the exchange rate at the moment to really make it worth bothering with. We find trainers still a good bargin as there are often good offers on multi-buys.
Another place where you can find some bargins are stores like Walmart..spent a good few hours in there last sept!!! I am into cake making and Walmarts stuff was half the price of here.
You can sometimes save an absolute fortune on things if you hit the sales at the right time. We are going this Nov/Dec so we hit the Black Friday sales!

Of all the times we have been we have yet to see anybody stopped at customs (but it may happen) they really don't seem bothered with the Orlando flights..it makes me laugh each time we go through customs as nearly everybody has brand new trainers on!

Oh how I love a sale!:)

thank you - trainers sounds really sensible and will be nice to get good ones for cheaper than cheapy ones :)
only been to Orlando once before and ended up with quite a lot of stuff from Walmart - wasn't sure whether now ASDA was Walmart whether it was too similar. Last time I went they had only just taken over ASDA and I remember thinking I bet our local ASDA never ends up with a tank of live lobsters
and your suggestion for the mall is great *** its one of the closest ones to where we are staying which makes life easier.
there's just so much choice I end up indecisive

planning on limiting the shopping to the one empty case we take but we can wear the trainers
just need to work out what else to get:scratchin

I buy my teenager several pairs of designer trainers and logo tracksuits. Not cheap but definitely cheaper. Also designer T shirts are cheaper. I kit him out for the next 6 months. Take an empty suitcase!!!

Same here for trainers. I always buy about 3 or 4 for DH as he wears them out SO fast! Also agree with cake/cooking stuff in Walmart - I can usually be found in that section lol! Also if you have a multi region DVD player you can find great deals on DVDs in Walmart - same goes for music!
We usually shop at the outlets on I Drive. Have some fave shops there but I'm such a reading fanatic that we always hit Borders or Barnes and Noble over by the Florida Mall so I can pick up hard to find books for cheap ;) I usually pack them in a back pack and carry them on and no one has ever said anything to me!
This time I'll be buying an extra suitcase in Walmart or Target and I'll fill that with clothes etc for DS....and maybe some shoes from Charlotte Russe at the Outlets for myself ;)

Also agree with cake/cooking stuff in Walmart - I can usually be found in that section lol! ;)

I must spend a good hour easily on my first trip in walmart then just have to nip back a week later to make sure I didn't miss anything and spend another hour in that section! I'll see you in there if you ever go in November! :)

DH and I agree a mutual time to meet up at the check out! ;)

By the way there is quite a good book store at the LBV factory outlets..its hit or miss some years but we normally come away with something from there.

Ugg boots are cheaper in US - pay in dollars same as you pay in pounds here. Plus there is an ugg outlet shop at premium outlets top of I drive where you may get a bargain.

Haha I'll be sure to let you know if we ever go in November ;) Thats the time of year I would most like to try - purely for the Xmas decorations! :goodvibes
Thanks for the tip about the bookstore in LBV!! I'm sure DH won't like me adding yet another book shop to my list ;) As it is he just drops me at Barnes and Noble and says that if I'm not out front waiting for him by X time then I can find my own way home lol! I'm never out front, he ALWAYS has to come shoo-ing me out of the store! My mother is like that in Walmart. Bringing her to Walmart could fill a whole day of her trip and she still wouldn't be done! She loves a bargain lol!
