Shopping question

I am new to all these rewards programs and have a question regarding online shopping. When shopping at a site in which more than one rewards program offers points per $, am I able to get points for all programs or do I need to choose only one?

I've never tried to get points from more than one, and I don't know how you'd do it since you have to go through the link at the specific rewards site to get the points. The sites get a commission from the retailer for your clicking through their site. Then they pass the rewards on to you. Or at least that's my understanding.
