Please let me know if there is a better place to post this question. I tried on a FB page and got zero input. I always get good advice here on the DIS!
I am traveling to WDW at the end of the month with a few other people; one is my very best friend! She loves all things Disney and has for years so she has TONS of Disney gifts already! Let's say she's in her early 40s (but we are kids at heart!).
It's her birthday a couple weeks after we return and I'd love to find a unique gift for her while we are at Disney (either to give right then and there, or bring home!).
A couple caveats:
1) As I said, her and her husband have SO MANY Disney things already. Their house is full. They even have a few nice pieces of art! So, I'm looking for something really creative or even something consumable. Meaning - a food gift (that can travel back home), or candle or perfume.... something she can use and enjoy, not just add to the house.
2) I will be around her most of my trip. So, if there is someplace specific I should look, I can enlist my son or her hubby to distract her while I sneak a purchase!
3) On my last park day, she has to head home, so I will be at MK without her, and then Disney Springs. So, it would be perfect if I could find something there!
4) She loves all things Disney, but if I had to pick, I would say she is partial to Belle, Tinkerbell, Up, Minnie, and Aristocats.

For Christmas, she got us matching Disney BFF necklaces. That was a super idea and she stole it! :) Anything else that would match up to that???

Please send or share some ideas with me!

Matching Disney Nuimos with outfits - small and super cute! Marie, Belle, and Minnie are all options

One of those Bowes candles at Disney Springs in the Clover World scent. It smells like the scent in the lobby of some of the resorts-Beach Club, Grand Floridian, BLT. Wish I bought one when I was there last.

Check out the Emporium in MK and World of Disney in DS.

The Pandora stores/sections have Disney themed costume jewelry. Prices aren't bad at all.

Loungefly backpack.
I know I can never have to many
With matching ears!!! 🤩

Orrrrr treat her to a fireworks cruise while you’re there! (If you’re looking at a higher budget) Or surprise her with a cake or something while you’re there also.

Besties are the best ❤️

Do you have ADR that offer the ability to add a cake? If yes, I would do that while there at a meal. She already has stuff, and this would be a fun way to celebrate her birthday even though it a couple weeks early. Or, coordinate with the others in your party, and surprise her with one day of the trip being pick as “her birthday day” even though it’s fake. Have everyone bring a super small, cheap gift from home and have her unwrap them there and have everyone wear a pin that says you are celebrating her birthday that day.

Alternatively, look at the Disney gifts and have one delivered to her room.

Or, just pay attention to what she thinks about buying but doesn’t during the trip and buy that for her. Be forewarned that while World of Disney at DS has most merchandise, it doesn’t always have what you want, so if you see something in a park, try to buy it that day.

I can suggest what I’m liking forward to buying on my first trip to Disney world in the spring:

I’d like a bottle of perfume from the France pavilion that I believe they’ll etch a design on for free!

Sounds like you will be there during the Festival of the Arts at Epcot. If they already have some Disney art, keep your eyes and ears open as far as what she says looks interesting. Then buy it on the sly and give it to her. The art comes in several price ranges, from frameable prints to original paintings, as well as sculpture, jewelry, and other mediums.

Has she been to any of the international parks? Sometimes you can find Disneyland Paris items in the French pavilion and I have seen some Shanghai Disney items in the China Pavilion. There are also Marie and Belle items in the French pavilion.

I don’t know your budget, but you mentioned she likes UP. Have you seen the earrings and necklace by Rebecca Hook? They are on the shopDisney website also, so you could take a look. I have a few pieces of Rebecca Hook jewelry and so far they have held up well. I have seen the UP pieces in person, and they are really nice.

Wow, these are just amazing ideas! I love them! Thank you all so much for taking the time to give me some great options! I have a couple weeks to investigate them.
I don't think I'll do the cake or activity (cruise, etc.) on site since we are going several weeks before her actual Bday. But... the cake thing gave me an idea - I'll see if I can find a Disney themed cake for her birthday when we are home!
In the meantime, I'll look into the gifts. I love that candle idea. I'll have to investigate which ones might be good. They've stayed many places. I know she loves Riviera and also GF so I'll see what smells relate to that!

I'm often a solo traveler, so it's always extra special when I go with friends. We've gotten in the habit of buying personalized souvenirs on the two trips we've been on.

The first one was a shot glass from the Arribas Brothers shop in Germany. (There's one on MK Main Street as well.) We etched our group nickname and the year of our trip on it, and I treasure it to this day.

On our second trip, we got those leather bracelets at the shop outside Pirates of the Caribbean. It was our first trip since Covid, so we started asking each other, "Is this new?" over and over again about things we'd forgotten about. So we had that quote and again the year of our trip etched on the bracelets. I have it hanging on my park backpack as a kind of keychain on a zipper.

All the merchandise I've ever bought -- art, shirts, mugs, pins -- and these are likely my two most precious.

My favorite purchases from my December solo trip were the large Travis Tumblers. I got one at Old Key West with a DVC theme and one at Wildresness Lodge with Santa Mickeys. I wish I bought some as gifts. I’d also check out the gift shops of her favorite hotel. I got a smaller version of the totem pole from Wilderness Lodge.

Like a previous poster suggested- a tour might be fun. For my wedding, I gifted my dad a thank you gift of the MK Keys to the Kingdom tour. It was so much fun to do it together and share our love of disney.
