Hi, where do people recommend for shopping opportunities, i.e. if there is a good shopping centre close to Disney World. I will be looking to buy clothes and trainers and the like. Plan is to take enough clothes for at least 5 days (I am away for 11 days) buy stuff I can wear while away and when I come home.

On past trips to Boston I have been known to dump all the clothes and shoes I have taken with me in favour of taken back all my new cheap “US prices” but high “UK prices” clothes ;)

Hi, your best bet is the premium outlet malls-very nice lay out and even nicer prices. You'll find everything there. Then there is the florida mall as well. These are the best nown tourist trails.Once you have started you'll find plenty along the way!Happy shopping! :cheer2:

Orlando Premium outlets which is just off I4 at LBV is not to be missed and Florida Mall is very good too. Mall at Millenia is worth a look if you have time as it's very swish with lots of 'posh' shops including Tiffanys but isn't nearly as cheap. Happy shopping :flower:

Another vote for the Florida Mall - not as many outlet type stores, but plenty of choice and some very nice department stores as well.

It also has a nice foodcourt too :)

Florida Mall or the Premium Outlets I would say. I love the Florida Mall myself

Premium Outlets like all discounted stores can be a bit hit and miss, but is particularly good for sportswear with Adidas,Puma and Nike Stores.
Also Sunglasses/Perfumes are good buys.

The Florida Mall is the best overall, you can find bargains too, jewellery is particularly cheap even at some of the stalls that are situated between the stores.

Mall At Millenia is the newest and nicest, some of the stores are best left for window shopping though, Macys and Bloomingdales are well worth a look.
I love the Tommy Bahama store for shirts etc

Festival Bay, is getting better but still a lot of plots are empty. The Ron Jon surf shop is always very popular with us, and again jewellery is very good value at some of the stalls within the mall.

Belz, erm , best leave alone

Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores - similar to PO, but not as good, mostly US labels we are not familiar with.

If you are after swimwear etc there is a shop at DTD which sells all of this. Men's Q****SILVER T-Shirts are about £10.00!
There is a Nike Outlet store on the 192 in Kissimee.Otherwise most of the top Malls have been mentioned. Personally I am a big fan of Mall at Millenia. DH isn't though, I can't imagine why

This year I don't think we will get much chance for shopping in Orlando :guilty: as we only have 4 days before heading down to Naples but I have checked out the shopping there - just don't tell DH :rotfl:

If you have a car try Super target, We looked everywhere for some shorts for my dh and he ended up buying some Q**** silver ones at Busch gardens for 60$, the next day we stopped at super target to buy some dvd's and found 4 pairs he liked much more for 17.99$ each. We also bought loads of outfits for my ds (11 months) and i got some t-shirts and a Tanktini. I was absolutley amazed at this shop and i will definatly go there first next time, the stuff is as good as any of the clothes i have bought at Next, Wallis or Principals recently.

We also liked the premium outlets and Gap at LBV mall and i can't say the Q****sliver stuff at DTD was anymore expensive than i saw it anywhere else.

HTH

Alex

PS why doen't it like Q****silver?

There is a Nike Outlet store on the 192 in Kissimee.

There are 2 on the 192. There's one round about Marker 10 near to the I4 end of the 192, and there's one round about Marker 7, where the roadworks are. The latter is in a group of shops which are quite run down.

As i have just got back a couple of comments

1. Nike shops on 192. Shop furthest into Kissimmee (Near Walmart) is a $30 and under store now. Very poor with just clearance lines in obscure designs. Other shop nearer I4 junction better. Overall though avoid if you want trainers in between size 8 and 10UK as they have a ludicrously small choice. I mean, who goes there to buy running spikes!!!!

2. Timberland at Belz had some amazing bargains. 2 pairs of hybrid trainer/shoes for $50 and clothing cheap too.

3. I thought Belz was ok. Wife got some great bargains for the kids in Gap, TH and Oshkosh.

4. Prices between park merchandise and same items in branded clearance shops in Belz was shocking. 5 times difference in some Cat in the Hat merchandise and 4 times in some Disney lines. SIL was gutted as she bought her daughter a doll set at Disney for $37 (Aladdin) only to see it as $11.50 in Belz!!!!

5. Mall at Millenia was Ok but huge and we only had 2 hours there so didnt do it justice. Cheesecake factory IMO was a bit of a letdown for takeaway. A bit pricey and the chessecakes (of which we tried 8) were a bit overpowering in density. Universal also have a franchised counter which was 25% cheaper!!!

6. Independant 'orlando gift shops' seem to be getting tackier each year. Best to avoid unless you have an undesirable relative with a dubious liking of tat.

7. Didnt do premium outlets as I couldnt trust the wife with the credit card!!!!!

8. Finally, great bargains on watches. Got a Fossil Titanium watch (very nice I might add) for $79 in Belz which was $185 in Univeral and £199 back home!
