Can anyone tell me if there are any good malls near DL ??
How easy they are to get to & what kind of shops are there

My hubbys wanting to visit a Harley shop & heard there's 1 but have no clue where it is??

Also has any1 been to the Dis Character Warehouse??
Think I read it's on Harbor but am wondering if it's a walkable distance from Hojo??
Does this 1 tend to stock pins??

Many thanks 

The Disney Character Warehouse is located north of DLR, but not really within walking distance. Take Harbor Blvd north 3.5 miles, then turn right on Orangethorpe Blvd. The DCW will be on your right in the strip mall.

FYI, there is also an In-n-Out burger on Harbor and Orangethorpe, if that is on your to-do list while visiting and you're looking to eat outside the parks. There are several other restaurants near that intersection, including Tony Roma's, El Torito, Panda Express, Togo's sandwich shop, Ruby's, and Sonic.

There was a Harley Davidson Store at the Anaheim Garden Walk when I was there in April. Its fairly close to Disneyland almost within easy walking distance.

I went to the Character Warehouse this past June, and I was so excited to go but once I got there I was pretty disappointed. I expected it to have more since it was so close to Disneyland but the selection was Mehhh IMO. :confused3

I did go to a nice mall it was not too far off the freeway on Main St, It's called Main Street Mall. My sister really wanted some popcorn from a store called popcornopolis that she saw on the food network and we dont have one near us except for when they have a roadshow at Costco. All I can say is YuMmY! :)

Yes, Character Warehouse is definitely hit or miss. Think along the lines of shopping at Ross. Occasionally you hit the jackpot; but more often than not, you don't.

That mall would be Main Place. I'd consider it a very typical shopping mall, not really a destination mall like South Coast Plaza, but decent and fairly close to Disneyland.

Main Place: http://westfield.com/mainplace/
approx 5 miles from the Disneyland Resort area

A couple of other choices in the immediate area...

Of course Downtown Disney is a given.

Anaheim Garden Walk: http://www.anaheimgardenwalk.com/
across the street from the Disneyland Resort area

The Block at Orange: http://www.simon.com/mall/default.aspx?ID=1236
approx 3 miles away from the Disneyland Resort area

And there's always South Coast Plaza, for those who are really into shopping and are up for a short road trip:

I could definitely go on if anyone wants more suggestions. I do enjoy my shopping. :thumbsup2

Is this store all overstock/leftovers from the parks, or the same Disney stuff you can find at Kmart or Target?

It's definitely stuff from the parks - not sure if it's all from the parks or not. I saw the exact same zip up jacket I paid $48 for and it was about $17 at the warehouse! :scared1:

Thanks. So is it all odd sized? How much is clothing and how much is other stuff?

I'd say it's about 75% clothing (infants, kids, and adults). They tend to carry more of the odd sizes, since that is what often does not sell so well in the parks, but you can find mediums and larges. They sometimes even have a selection of WDW stuff. Go figure. :confused3

They also have plush toys, pins, hats, decorative items, purses/bags, plates, commuter coffee cups, sometimes holiday stuff, and more. The inventory is constantly turning over and it is mostly overstock park items.

Although it's hit-or-miss, it's still fun to look around, and you never know, you might find a real bargain. If you have a car, it's really quick and easy to get over there from DLR.

I agree with Tony. Some of the stuff, IMO, is still pretty expensive but you can definitely find some bargains. :thumbsup2

The Block at Orange: http://www.simon.com/mall/default.aspx?ID=1236
approx 3 miles away from the Disneyland Resort area
You can get to The Block via ART route #15, which stops next to the Krispy Kremes donut shop. Lots of restaurants at The Block - we go there for the Corner Bakery.

Alcatraz Brewing Co.
Cafe Tu Tu Tango
Corner Bakery
Dave & Buster's
El Torito
Johnny Rockets
Kamiyama Sushi at Market Broiler
Koji's Sushi & Shabu Shabu
Lucky Strike Lanes
Market Broiler
T.G.I. Friday's

When we were there a month ago, the pins were pretty old (dated from the past 3 years or so) and random events (think "Cinco de Mayo 2008") We love pins but didn't find anything that really struck our fancy there. But I'm sure it's always changing.

It was pretty dirty and smelly there when we were there, and many things were broken. But there may be some decent finds from time to time, my husband did see a shirt that he had seen in the park, but only in size small at the DCW.
