Shopping July 4th

I'm from Canada and we are planning a trip to Maine and New Hampshire over the July 4th holiday. I had heard there are really good sales for the holiday. I have been looking on line and do not see much listed in sales. i remember looking on line months before for the Black Friday sales. Are sales good July 4th? Or should I just look at is as a 'family getaway,' instead of a shopping trip.

Don't be silly. We commercialize everything .

Most holidays aren't the big shopping 'events' that Black Friday is. There will be sales, absolutely. They'll just pretty much be the regular weekly retail sales. That's not to say there won't be excellent prices; it's just not the big to-do like in November
