I have what may be a stupid question... If we buy something like fudge, chocolates, handmade soap, etc while in Vancouver before the cruise, would there be any challenges going through customs after the cruise or even boarding the ship? Thanks!

As long as the food is packaged in its original packaging, you should have no problem taking it on the ship. The worst case scenario would be that DCL confiscates it for you to pick up at the terminal when you return to Vancouver.

I had to Google 'Kinder Surprise'. Wow! $2500 for a chocolate egg! Better than a Wonka Bar ;)

Well, some people were threatened with that back in 2012, but no fine was levied. So...

As far as customs is concerned, if you have a problem going through customs to get in the ship (which is leaving Canada and entering the US so it’s US customs), you’ll have a problem getting it home to the US. Maybe take a peak at CBP website to see if you’re buying anything problematic.

Thank you so much for all of the replies!! :) I did look at the chocolate links and the CBP website. It looks like "candy and chocolate" are "generally admissible". I appreciate the help!
