It's getting nearer!!! Ah i can't wait :cheer2:
Anyway i was wondering if you could help me with something. My mum wants to go into paris one day to do some Christmas shopping (personally i think everything we could need is in Disney Village :) ) and I was wondering where is the best place to go?

Also, any instructions on how to get their on the train would be greatly appreciated. Wishing everyone a Merry Countdown x

Hmm though i think Paris itself (the famoust spots and attractions) has not so much christmas decorations as other cities. As we've been there ( Nov 2002 or 2003?) we saw little decorations and were a little bit disappointed about that.

But I can't say how the big stores look like at christmas time and if you can get a christmas mood in there.

For shopping only i recommend the 4 most famous big stores (or department stores) in Paris, they have a large choice of almost everything comparable to Harrods and some are a attraction by themselves because of their beautiful architecture.
1.Bon Marché (very large choice) adress:22 rue de Sevres 75007
2.Galeries Lafayette (large choise of name-brand products) adress: 40bd. Haussmann 75009
3. Printemps (Don't miss this great architecture/ big choice) adr.:64bd. Haussmann 75009
4. Samaritaine ( also beautiful architecture/ big choice) adr.:Rue de Rivoli 75001

And Paris has a lot of designer-stores, too, like Chanel; Christian Dior; KENZO ... if you have the adequate big purse ... ;)

I 've forgotten: If you have a good guidebook you won't have any problems to get to an adress by metro (underground/subway). In most of the guides the metro-station and adresses of the spots you want to go is listed. Just go by RER train from Dlrp into Paris and then move on by metro.

Thanks so much for that! We've done the touristy thing before a few years ago when i went with my whole family- this is a purely shopping expedition! The link you attached is fantastic. I don't know any useful french and was finding their metro maps and sites difficult to understand  .
