I'm trying to find out if things are done in DL like WDW, when you stay on-site (GCH). When you purchase something can you send it back to the hotel and not have to drag it around all day? The other thing, I know at least in the past, you could ship your souvies back home if you take all your goodies and the receipts to the hotel giftship. Will they do this in DL, and if so is the price based off of weight or cost of the items?
TIA

You definitely can have your purchases sent back to your DLR hotel of choice so you don't have to drag them around - that's one of my favorite perks of staying onsite! And it can be one small item or a bunch of large ones. It doesn't matter. Either way, if you don't want to carry it around the parks (or if you're a klutz like I am and are likely to break it or lose it), the store will send it back to your hotel. You fill out a slip at the register and enter your contact info and room # at the hotel, etc., and you can pick up your bags at the Bell desk of the hotel at 7:00 a.m. the following morning.

I have heard of some occasions in which the CM's at the registers either did not know they could send a guest's bags back to their hotel or they had run out of the forms you fill out to have it done, but I don't think those occasions are frequent. When I have used this service, it worked very well! I had one tiny snow globe sent back to my hotel because I knew I would break it in my purse, and I had a whole big bag of stuff sent back, as well as some other things on different trips. Worked like clockwork!

As for shipping all your park purchases back home, I can't say for certain that the hotel gift shop is the place that does it, only because I have not personally had to do that. I would imagine that they probably will do that for you. I know that if you purchase one of the in-room mini-Christmas trees from Vacation Planning during the holiday season, the GCH will pack it up and ship it back home for you. So I can't see why they couldn't ship other things besides mini-trees as well!

I know you can also have things shipped in other ways, too - like, for example, if you buy a big, bulky, fragile snow globe in one of the Disneyland shops, which cannot be taken on the plane with you, you can have that shop get your information and ship it to your home, or to someone else's home. I'm not sure how they charge - by weight or by cost of item. So if the shops in the parks can do it, I'm sure the hotel gift shops must be able to do it as well.

I know I couldn't answer all of your questions, but hopefully that will be of some help!:goodvibes
