Shopping For A Camcorder

I have been looking at the mini dv camcorders as I have many events coming up that will require some videotaping.

I am looking right now at a couple of Canon models. The ones that have still photo option on memory card. Does anyone by chance own one of these? They seem to be running in the $500-$600 range.

Please share if you have experience with these, or if you have a camcorder that you are very pleased with. Thanks much!

in my opinion, a digital 8 camcorder is just as good. It records things at a digital quality but still uses cheap 8mm tapes.

we have a sony (i don't remember the model, i think a 320) and it's worked out great. I've never used the picture option though.

Just think of what options you want and look for the camcorder that has them.

I bought a new 8mm samsung mini camcorder two days ago....I have been looking for one for sometime....went to Sam's for a couple of things and they had it on sale for 197.00. I bought it on the spot. I looked at a digital camcorder....but decided against it....A friend has one and it is so complicated....they rarely use it....This camera is an easy straightforward 8mm mini
