For anyone down there now or like in the past week or two... I was hoping to buy a new sweatshirt this weekend when we go...wondered if sweatshirts are a seasonal item & if they're not available now?? Has anybody noticed lately if they're still selling sweatshirts? I was torn between 2 items late last August when we were there - they were JUST starting to put the warmer fleeces & sweatshirts out in the stores while we were there... I ended up buying a pink DVC fleece 'cuz I didn't have any DVC merchandise but I really also wanted this pink WDW hooded sweatshirt I saw in a couple of stores (in Epcot I think). Both were about $50 or $55 so I could only buy 1 or the other...I am packing now & wondered if I should leave room for a new hoodie?! :confused3 I am cold natured :cold: & am trying to decide if I should pack 2 sweatshirts or 1 (assuming I could buy a new one there)?!
TIA

I just got back - yes, they have some sweatshirts, but not as many as they did in November. Most of the ones I saw where hooded, zip-up jackets, though.

I was there at the beginning of the month. There were lots of sweatshirts. But if it looks like the paint on the character on the sweatshirt has faded or rubbed off -- look carefully. I thought it was just a weird design, but the color actually rubs off on some of them. Not worth the price they charge.

We were down in January, and were very disappointed in the selection of both sweatshirts and T-shirts available this year. Most of it seemed to be lower quality merchandise, thought the prices seemed a little lower and more stuff was "on sale." I only bought a couple shirts at Rainforest Cafe, nothing in the parks or resorts looked to be that great. And sometimes I find a LOT of shirts...it seems to cycle. And I usually find some nice OKW shirts...again, nothing.

Whereas I saw a lot of cute shirts this week. :) I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder. ;) They have a great line of Vinylmation shirts (got one) and a lot of cute embellished shirts (resisted). Plus I got a black sundress with animal print Mickey heads that was pronounced "stinkin' cute" by my girlfriends. (That got left in the Owner's Locker, of course - it's a WDW only sorta thing.)

And best of all, there were some great boys' shirts - a whole series of shirts based on old shorts - I got my son a Lonesome Ghosts shirt and he was over the moon excited. (And my DH wished they'd had it in his size, too!)

They didn't have anything like that in January. My Mom likes some of the embellished shirts from AK, and she didn't find anything in January.

Most of the embellished shirts I saw were at Tren-D.

I bought that same sweatshirt last year! I had a little trouble forking over $55 dollars for a sweatshirt.

I got 2 shirts in November that were about that expensive and well worth it. One was a DVC hooded pullover - not sweatshirt material, but rather 2 layers of light gray t-shirt jersey. It is so cozy but not heavy like a sweatshirt. It was $55 and came home with me.

The other is a gray sweatshirt with a simple embroidered patch (MK, I think), the softest inside fleece and pockets - not a pouch pocket but individual pockets set into the sides. This alone is hard to find, but it also is hoodless - which is even harder to find! This is the perfect one for hanging out in the room at night or throwing on to make an early morning run to the resort shop. I believe it was $45. This one lives in a Locker (which is why I can't remember what the patch is), but I wish I'd gotten a 2nd one to take home!

Oh I hope I can find something. It is still a bit cool in the evenings so I hope they still have merchandise. I also prefer hoodless over hooded...but "need" another sweatshirt!:rotfl: Hood or no hood!! I usually end up buying the cheaper stuff just to stick on budget...I got a watch last year too that I really like...which is why I didn't buy BOTH the DVC fleece and the pink sweatshirt. OK...I'm going to go take something out of my carry-on so I have room for a new hooded something or other!!:goodvibes

Ok, educate me.....what is an "embellished" shirt? It's either real expensive or someting Tweens wear?:confused3

It doesn't just have a printed design, it has beads or sequins or trim of some sort. It's typically more expensive, yes. There's a super cute one that says "One Bad Apple" and has the Evil Queen on it - there's a similar one that's Mickey-themed, but the Evil Queen one is awesome. It has some applique letters, trimmed in a little bit of sequin and beading - very cute.
