Shopping bag timeline/history?

Does anyone know of a website or whatever that shows a timeline of plastic shopping bag designs from WDW? I'm guessing some collector has done one, but I can't find anything.

Well all Disney Bags are designed by the DDG (Disney Design Group) these are the same people who do most of the pins as well. I was at a seminar they put on and they mentioned that the bags and napkins along with all the other paper goods are designed to go with the park theme for that year or promotion.

As for a timeline they also said they sometimes just come up with a better looking bag so after talking with merchandising thay put it out.

I would guess that if you could get a hold of someone form that area of Disney they may be able to help.

I collect all the WDW shopping bags. I can tell you that the first five years or so 1971-1975 the bags were orange with Mickey and Minnie holding hands with cameras around there necks. Some of the bags you can figure out the years by what was going on at the time. I"m sure this won"t help much but I thought I would tell you what I knew.

That is pretty cool! When it comes to Disney I am a bit of a packrat. I am sure I have quite a few Disney Bags from over the years. I don't actually consider that a collection at this point, but then again......

Now I know what to do with all of those darn Disney bags that are scattered throughout my house.

BTW - I particularly like the ones that were printed upside down. At least I assume that it was a printing error. If you held the bag so that the image was correct, everything would spill out onto the floor. I saw a later version of the same bag where they had rotated the image 180 degrees. Oh drat. Maybe I'm the one with the bag collection.

The early bags also featured a different design. There were paper and plastic bags (with no handles) that had balloons on them. The balloons were multicolored round with solid colored ears. The balloon strings dangled below the balloons and were either pink, blue or orange.

I still have a few of those bags, but none of the orange bags discussed earlier. I wish I did!
