Hi,

I just received a quote from DU and I understand that if the price goes down they will make an adjustment.

With 5 in our family I'm wondering if this is a good deal or should I shop around for a better quote.

There are 2 adults and 3 children and the current quote with discount is approximately $4,800. This is for the 4 night land/3 night sea in
April 2005

Category 04

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I would try pricing the cruise and the land portion separately. Depending on which hotel you book, you may need 2 rooms.
Also, depending on the price by booking separately, you may be able to take the 4 day cruise and 4 days at WDW for the same price or cheaper.

We booked a Disney cruise last year - same situation as you with a family of 5, category 4.

I shopped around and got quotes from a variety of places including Disney, Dreams Unlimited, Sam's Club, AAA, and at least one on-line agency.

If I'm remembering correctly the difference between Disney and everyone else was a few hundred dollars. I believe that the rest of the quotes were within about a hundred dollars of each other.

I do remember that the lowest number was from one of the on-line agencies. It looked like they weren't taking much of a commission at all. We didn't go with them though because some of the information they provided was just plain wrong. Nothing major or alarming, just bad information.

Honestly - Dreams Unlimited was a bit more (maybe $25 or $50) than most of the others. But I went with them because once I got bad information from the other agent I decided it was worth the extra to have someone who knew at least as much as me about the cruise. I don't want to have to worry about issues such as room assignments, dinner seating, cruise documents, etc.

It is worth checking around though. Getting a quote doesn't cost anything and it does help you feel like you are making an educated decision.

Keep us posted about what you end up doing!

edited to add: just read jilljills message - she is absolutely correct about the land/sea combo. It's usually less expensive to coordinate the land part yourself then it is to book the combo.

Hi RagamuffinMom,

Thanks for the suggestions and I will keep you posted on
my search.

Hi jilljill,

Thanks for the suggestion. I will look into land/sea seperately.
