Last time I was there (2004) - it all seems such a distant memory! :wizard: I went to one of the outlets - now I think it was Belz but don't quote me on it. However when I was there they had some great stores but also included a disney and a universal outlet store.

I read a while back that Belz was gone and replaced by something else - maybe Premium Outlets? The question remains are there still Universal or Disney outlet stores as some of the stuff we found there was great....including my Dr Doom statue :cool1:

The new shopping centre can be found at www.primeoutlets.com

There still is a Disney Character Warehouse but doesn't seem to be a Universal store :goodvibes

Hope this helps

We were there a couple of weeks ago and indeed belz has morphed into a new set of outlets. Its taken about a year for them to get up and running (they were still a building site the previous time we were there). Its kind of in a few parts at the moment with the old prime outlets (ralph lauren, SAKS, DKNY) at the same site they always were. The 'new' outlets are about 1/2 a mile further on and they are stilling being bulit. A good variety of stores there and when they are completed it should be great. As previous poster said Disney store but i didnt see Univeral. Nieman Marcus is a walk from the 'main' group of stores at the moment but will be linked once all stores are completed and occupied.

The Premium outlets are I4 exit 68(DTD) down the 535 and left onto vineland avenue. They are great and offer a disney store as well.

Happy shopping.

Both the Orlando Premium Outlet mall in Lake Buena Vista and the Belz Outlet World in Orlando had Universal outlet stores at one time but I don't believe either of them have one anymore. (Belz, as noted, is now rebuilt and called Prime Outlets International.)

Both malls still have the Disney outlets.

Belz used to have a Hard Rock Cafe outlet store but no longer does. There is a third outlet mall called the Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores (south on SR 535 at the county line) that has a brand new HRC Outlet along with a Disney outlet too. But no Universal outlet either.

We visited the new Prime Outlets for the first time in January. It's very similar in style to the Premium Outlets at LBV and, as others have already mentioned, there's still a lot of building work going on. There are all the usual suspects, but when it's fully-functional there will be some exciting new names too, including Saks Off 5th, Stuart Weitzman (:yay: ), Michael Kors, Juicy Couture, Kate Spade and Betsey Johnson. The similarity in name to the existing mall is bound to cause confusion, but it's just the latest location for an established group rather than an attempt to cash-in on a successful competitor.

Festival Bay, which is directly opposite the new Prime Outlets, has a huge new Universal Store (albeit not discounted). FB is very slowly filling up - there were definitely more stores open this time, although it was still very quiet when we were there. It's worth a visit for Sheplers and the Bass Pro Shop alone. From Prime Outlets/Festival Bay, it's a very quick hop up Millenia Boulevard to the Mall at Millenia, so it's easy to do all three in one shopping trip.

We made one attempt to visit the Premium Outlets this trip, but it was swimming with cars looking for spaces. Every time we drove past it looked packed. Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede next door has been sold to the owners so the car parking issue should soon be a thing of the past.

Slightly OT - but all I can say is RIP Belz. Really miss the old belz mall as it had character. The new Prime outlets are just a replica of the premium outlets and although it will make the new owners lots of money (which I'm sure belz didn't by the end) it just isn't the same!!!
