So just for the heck of it I googled the Nikon D300 and clicked on one of the too good to be true prices ($899 ). It took me here http://www.shopcartusa.com/P_Nikon_D300_Digital_SLR_25432/PT_Y/?ic_campID=98, where several ridiculously low "offers" are listed. The strange part is that several of these merchants have very high ratings on this site with thousands of purported reviews. However on Resellerratings, which is the site I usually use for this purpose, the same merchants have horrible scores (for instance, http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Camera_Addict).

What gives? Obviously this site can't be trusted, but I'm amazed that these people get away with doing business like this.

They get away with it b/c who is going to stop them. It would take someone filing a complaint in the merchant's city (if you can even figure out where they are). Most people upset are just concerned with getting their own money straight and after that is fixed they just drop it.
