Shopaholic Goes Disney.... A Pre-Trip Report (Updated 12/26)

I love that you wore platforms and pearls to the park... I'm lucky to get my hair out of a ponytail and remember to throw on a decent pair of shoes!

I really think he will too, and I'm really excited, because while he usually does pretty well with presents, I really want something that I'll definitely use.

I also started hinting that they have matching wallets... we'll see what he decides on.

Thanks! I still like dress cute when I'm out in the parks, but not that fancy.

OMG..you DO look like Blair!!!!:cutie: The pic of you...you were Miss what? Cute pic!!

Oh... that was my Bachelorette Party. It said 'Miss Bachelorette'. I didn't want anything raunchy, so my sister got me a crown and sash.

But if we are talking pageant titles... I proudly held the title of "Miss Chicken Festival 1999." Seriously!!!!:rotfl2:

Mine was taller and her hair was wider.

I haven't, I should, though. I think she lives in Texas somewhere. I would love to hear her speak one day.

Whew! I finally read through your whole PTR. It took me two days, but I did it.

First, let me say your family is just precious.:cutie:

Second, let me say you have wonderful taste. I have loved everything you have picked out for your trip.:lovestruc

You definitely made a good decision swapping POP for WL that first night. We used to stay at POP or ASMo the night before our DVC reservations started. What a difference! Much more peaceful at VWL or OKW. We will be at our "home" in the VWL in Dec.! Going into serious planning/organizing mode here. Soooooo excited.:yay:

But enough about me.:lmao: Seriously, I have really loved your PTR so far and can't wait to read/see more. Off to do some shopping now.:rotfl: Is that what everyone does when they leave your PTR?

Thanks so much! I hope you got some fabulous goodies on your shopping trip. :cutie:

Hello, been keeping up with this report, but first time posting. Lots of fun reading.

Also wanted to let all the Vera Bradley fans know here is a coupon for 10% off sale items online PROMO110208 and it expires November 2.

So far...I've held back from purchasing!

Hi! Thanks for reading.

I think my PTR has become the Un-Official Vera Bradley post.

All caught up! I have only posted once on your report I think - but I wanted to chime in and say hello. I am loving getting to "shop" through you!!! haha!! You have made some great purchases - you'll win another title..."Mrs. Best Dressed at WDW" ;)

I'll do my best to keep up now!

Cathy

BTW - little Belle's picture in you avatar is WONDERFUL!

Have I always dressed up to walk around theme parks?

The answer is 'yes'. It's just what I do. As I tell my DH, "If you have a problem with it, take it up with my grandma. I get it from her. It's genetic." (This is my 75 year old Grandma who wore a Juicy Couture velour tracksuit at the height of it's popularity. By the way, she dresses very cute and modest- she's just super trendy Grandmother. I don't want you to imagine that she tries to dress like a 20 year old.:) )

I thought it would be fun to check out (and poke fun at) some of my park attire from previous trips. Forgive me for the quality of the pictures, they are from the dark ages and our scanner is broken.

-1996-
My first trip to Disney! I was 14 years old, had my natural hair color :scared1: and had been dreaming of Disney World for as far back as I could remember.:cloud9: (Audri was 12 and Evie was 11.)

IMG_3547.jpg

In case you can't tell my shirt is a cola can with 'FLIRT' written on it. My mom bought it for me for Christmas at Stage. (Stage was SO COOL then.) I'm also wearing Guess jean cut-off shorts and a fancy pair of gray jellies.

IMG_3579.jpg

What kind of shoes does one wear with a paisley halter top with matching shorts?

White Nike's with tube socks, of course! :rotfl2:

FAB-U-LOUS! I firmly believe this is the ugliest thing I have ever worn.

IMG_3594.jpg

What a lovely and stylish group we were in our ball caps and pony-tails.

-1999-
Two trips- Senior Trip in June and my grandmother too us again in July.

IMG_3600.jpg

It was 6 am. My sister's are in their pajamas. I came out practically in my underwear.

IMG_3572.jpg

My BF Katie and I in our matching outfits. How sweet!

IMG_3573.jpg

IMG_3580.jpg

The infamous blue dress that made it's way around Disney World in 99. Not complete without platform sandals and pearls.

(I also wore an even fancier purple dress and went around The World Showcase taking pictures with a cute guy from each country. I cannot find those pictures anywhere, but they were great. )

-2000 - College Program
IMG_3586.jpg

Look out Disney. Soleil and her tacky wardrobe are moving in!

IMG_3577.jpg

Me, Evie and my middriff hanging out on the Boardwalk. You can't really tell in this picture, but I gained 35 pounds in 3 months of the College Program.:scared1: All of that yummy Disney food!

IMG_3595.jpg

Four For a Dollar called me on stage and sang to me after my last day at work. We loved each other and I really miss working with them. They are very talented and such fun guys!

(An interesting tidbit- I was chosen from the audience to be in the Doug Show on my Senior Trip. Backstage, I told the guy playing Doug that I would be working with him one day soon. He is the young guy on the far right.)

-2002-
My mom has always talked about the Disney Cruise, but would never plan a vacation for herself. I suprised her and took her on the cruise for Easter. It was such a special trip and she's been treating herself to cruises every since.;)

At the CBR in our coordinating outfits.

And finally.... my favorite picture from any Disney trip.:wizard:

I sure hope that wasn't too boring! Thanks for putting up with my Me-Fest.princess:

Great update! I love looking back at old Disney pictures and the old fashions! There are PLENTY of pictures of me in some pretty un-fabulous outfits at WDW.
