Shopaholic Goes Disney.... A Pre-Trip Report (Updated 12/26)

Oooohhh...I am coveting the VB microfiber bag!!! Hadn't thought about carry-ons yet, but that would be very nice, indeed! I recently ordered and returned a hipster...the pattern was just too much for me, but I may have to take another look at puccini. I think the hipster strap will be so comfortable on the shoulder/neck. You are a good shopper! :thumbsup2

Hi! I must admit.... I've never been a VB fan. Like you, the patterns were just too much for me. However, I'm a huge 'bag fan' and wanted to find a great one to carry around the world, plus I was in need of a nice carry-on. I read lots of posts on here about bags and was deciding between VB and Baggalini. I checked out my local Hallmark store and liked the VB much better than the Baggalini. The Puccini is very nice, not too cutesy. I'm so glad you like them!!!! :) Welcome to my pre-trip report and thanks for the shopping comment. You made my day!

Sorry - it means that I am subscribing to your report.

Thanks for letting me know! That makes so much sense.:goodvibes

Hello! ANother one from LA signing in...

I was considering doing a PTR for our first DVC over Mardi Gras, so I decided to look around and see what everyone else was doing. I found yours as I was looking.

Your family is beautiful, and I am enjoying your walk down memory lane so far.

Keep up the good work!

Please do a pre-trip with me! :cutie: Pretty please! :cutie:
Thanks for the comments on my family. I think they are beautiful, too! :)

P.S. Can I be un-patriotic to my state for a moment? :scared: I wish I could get out of here for Mardi Gras, too! I just don't enjoy it!:snooty:

I just found your report. I clicked on the thread wondering if you were a reader of the Shopaholic series and you were.:cool1: I loved that series....way too funny! I just finished not too long ago the Shopaholic and Baby and I could see how she could go nuts buying stuff for her baby. I had to tell myself to stop also (though I am not as crazy as her) but my son does have quite a lot of stuff and he is not here yet! :confused3 Can't wait to hear about your trip. I too want to take baby about 2.5-3yrs old but I will wait to discuss that with DH b/c he will think I am crazy to start thinking about it now...but he does know it is coming someday!!

I'm still thinking about it. As far as being unpatriotic to the state, go on. I HATE MARDI GRAS!!!!! It has become our annual exile. It's just not the same celebration as it was when we were younger. There is no such thing anymore as having a place to enjoy the parade as a family without a drunken fool puking in front of you.:sad2:

Girl! I went NUTS when I was pregnant with Belle! Especially as soon as I found out she was a girl. She still has more clothes than DH and I combined.:cutie: I have gotten better since she was born, though. I have figured out the things I do and do not need and now that extra money goes to the Disney-Fund. Well, and the Disney Trip Shopping Fund. Hehe!:wizard:

Boo! Mardi Gras! I went in New Orleans once and was back in my hotel room after 15 minutes.:sad2:

Great new title...and lol! Glad I could help! :goodvibes

Fabulous update also -- woohoo! for getting the best price on tickets (don't you love it when you can beat the system like that? :thumbsup2 )

My park-hopping bag. VB Hipster in Puccini.

This is so pretty! I love the pattern!

ok I'm going to ask...what is VB?? What brand I mean...I can't figure out the abbreviation.

(In case you haven’t noticed by now, I shop on Fridays, so I’ll most likely be updating on Fridays or Saturdays each week. I have a list of all the things DH and I need for this trip and I’m stretching it out, week by week until November when I start Christmas shopping. In reality, I am not a big shopper and am actually fairly frugal. When planning a trip for Disney, I (obviously) go into super-shopper mode.)

I’m a bad mommy.:sad2: I know I should wait until our September trip and go the Akershush for the first time with Belle. (For Pete’s sake, her name-twin is there to greet her at the door!!!!!) But… mommy needs a little princess time to herself. How is it that perfectly mature (this could be questionable) adult woman can instantaneously turn back into a squealing six year old at the mention of a Princess Breakfast. :yay: I’m a mean mommy, but I just can’t wait! I have to go in January!

In my great Disney Shopping Quest 08, I have been in search of the perfect princess top. Knowing that I’ll be dining with royalty, I’ve been in search of the perfect outfit to wear. I have been searching for something girly, prissy, pretty and in the shade of pink or purple. I would wear a dress, but it will be January and that’s a no go in my book (especially since I’m planning to ride Soarin’ at least 3 times after breakfast).

I must also admit that it is my second Honeymoon and I want DH to think that I am the prettiest princess in the room! princess:

Hi Soleil!

This is great! You have a beautiful family and I think it's cool that you were a cast member. i always wanted to work at wdw... even after I went to college for nursing- I thought, they need nurses at disney, too, right? Alas, my disney boyfriend (now hubby) and I live in NJ and he wanted to stay close to NYC for acting. "But you can act in Florida!, I cried!" 21 years later, I'm still in NJ, longing for more frequent trips to wdw!

LOVE your pix!

LOVE Vera Bradley! I have several totes and luggage and my current pattern is the daisy in a hipster w/ fun accessories, all ready for wdw in 6 weeks or so...

I'm on the shopping prowl for teva flip flops, now. :)

Keep up the writing and the shopping updates!

Sue

Hey! I followed your link over here from the January board. Your cute photos of Belle led me here!! :)

And oooh, we're staying at the Wilderness Lodge at the same time! Kinda. You leave on the day after we arrive - so we cross paths for one night!

I love your Vera Bradley bag! I must confess, I've never heard of them before! We don't have them here in Australia, but I'm currently checking some out on ebay. They seem very cute and a great size! Would yours fit a bottle of water, do you think, or a camera? Or is it really just for cards?

Oooh and one more thing... I LOVE the Shopaholic books!! Do you know they're making the first one into a movie!? I'm so excited!

Anyhoo, keep up the great work! I've really enjoyed reading about your planning so far! :thumbsup2

Thanks! I go through the same discussion with my husband. After he graduates, I want to move back to Orlando. He has no desire.

I do have plans to return, though.... there were TONS of retired snowbirds who work at Disney during the fall & winter. They were so awesome and so much fun! Plus, getting great discounts for family members to visit. I do want to return and work as a retiree one day!

Maybe we can meet at the lobby of WL. I really want to meet a fellow Disser. I'm so excited about WL because it's one of the few resorts I've never seen. It looks amazing!

I will take a picture with my VB and let you get an idea of the size. It will hold a water bottle for sure! It's a great size. Be expecting a picture later today or early tomorrow! Have a great day!

Photos would be fantastic!! Thank you!! I've found a few on ebay, but they only show photos of the outside, not the inside. So maybe a photo of the inside pockets might be handy too, while you're at it!!?! Please, hehee! :worship:

I think I quite like the Raspberry Fizz print. I'm not sure if it would be too overbearing in reality though! Have you seen it? What do you reckon?

I've never seen WL either! The photos look amazing though - I can't wait! We should totally meet in the lobby, how funny!! :yay:

I ordered the Capri Melon and returned it...it was way too much for me! They seem much brighter in person than on the computer screen. The raspberry fizz is raspberry (as opposed to red) and orange. I've figured out that I'm more of an animal print girl.

I'm so sorry! We've had a wild day and I haven't gotten around to posting bag pictures. I did go and look at Rasberry Fizz today and it is cute but VERY bright. The colors remind me of "tween" material. Please don't let that stop you from buying it if you really like bright colors. :goodvibes It really is very cute!

You know...I haven't really looked at any of the VB stuff, but seeing these bags is getting me interested. They are so cute!

I like the top you got for the princess meal. Very nice...

I have been a bad reader. Real life is catching up on me...

I'm still thinking about doing my ptr. I just don't know if I have enough to report that would keep it running for almost 6 months.:confused3
