Shopaholic Goes Disney.... A Pre-Trip Report (Updated 12/26)

Food by Stouffer does not sound so adorable.

The character dinner is going to end soon, but I can't remember when. I'm sure info is on WDWinfo or allears.

Hehe! That's a thought! They really aren't as comfortable as I was hoping, though and I'll be in the park for a LONG time that day. I'm seriously considering those Dr. Scholl's pads that you put in your shoes.

I am dying to try Beaches and Cream & Kona! You are so lucky! Maybe if we have time this trip we can try out B&C. I'm a big cheeseburger lover and I hear they are amazing there.

I can't wait to get a cheeseburger, onion rings and the No Way Jose! Never had them but I know I will love it. We ate at Kona for breakfast years ago but I didn't get the Tonga Toast - I'm dying to try it - I hope it lives up to the hype!

I'm not going to LTT. You are correct, it is sponsored by Stouffer and I've read mixed reviews. Mostly good, however. They say the mac&cheese is great! (Which is a fabulous thing in my book!)

As far as Poly goes-
O'Hana- It's been a family favorite of ours for about 15 years. This will be the first time DH will ever go and I haven't been in several years (actually, as an adult), so the jury is out on this one food-wise. If you have kids I would suggest it, because I remember they did lots of fun things that we liked. (Hula hoop contest, coconut broom races, on my 16th birthday they gave me a tiara and paraded me around the place, while I waved like Mrs. America. )

Kona- This place get's wonderful reviews. It seems to be very popular. The tonga toast (their version of french toast) sounds to die for. Dinner also sounds great!

Sorry if I gave too much info...... I'm quite a talker. (Especially about things Disney. )

Kona

Liberty Tree Tavern does the Character Dinner until 1/4/09. It's the only character dinner we like in MK. The food is pretty good - not great. I do love the strawberry salad dressing and the apple cobbler!
'Ohana is our favorite, too - next to Le Cellier. Breakfast has great characters and Dinner is great with all the activities - even if the kids don't join in - it keeps them entertained. I have heard a lot about the Lapu Lapu - I may have to try this drink at dinner.

Never had a Lapu Lapu but read about it on other TRs - myer's rum, bacardi 151, orange juice, sour mix served in a PINEAPPLE! I have had both Slushes at EPCOT - I prefer the Grey Goose.

I’m a bad mommy. I know I should wait until our September trip and go the Akershush for the first time with Belle. (For Pete’s sake, her name-twin is there to greet her at the door!!!!!) But… mommy needs a little princess time to herself. We are also eating at Cinderella's Royal Table. That was just decided a few days ago. DH is actually excited about that. We really had a fantastic breakfast there on our Honeymoon and want to go back.

So I'll be in search of another princess top soon.

We have a darling Belle too! I wanted to name my second Aurora but hubby wouldn't have it

We are doing an adult only anniversary trip (our 9th) in 5 weeks. We are doing the deluxe dining plan too. This will be the first time going to disney without the kids (since we had kids anyway). I am worried I am going to miss them terribly and seeing all of the other kids will make it hard. We took the kids last october, this past may and are taking them again in January so they are def not deprived in terms of disney that's for sure...we own DVC so we tend to go alot. It is fun to take them at all ages so you will enjoy it when you take your daughter. Taking them at under a year is super easy....18 months-3 years is hard and then after 3 1/2 it gets easy gain. I don't think I could do a princess meal without the kids....you are brave

I asked DH yesterday what the thought about naming our next daughter Ariel. He said, "That's way too Disney for me!" Hehe!

As far as the princess meals, I guess I won't feel bad since she's not really that into the princesses yet. Now, when I see Mickey Mouse ("Go Go", as she calls him) I will probably burst into tears. The good thing is that we are most likely heading back with her in 2009, so I don't feel too bad.

I feel much better, thank you! It was a 24 hour stomach bug. Ick!

Keep an eye out for those VB bags. I think you will be very pleased with the size and comfort of the Hipster. Just make sure you don't get the mini-hipster.

For flats I wear these pads that are terry cloth and the top and gelly on the bottom. They are specially designed for flats and are super comfy. I got them from Aldo.

We are staying at AKL August 5-14th, 2009. I can't wait. Hoping to start a Pre-Trippie soon, but the question is...is it too soon to start a Pre-Trippie when your trip is 11 months away? I don't think so

Thanks for reading! Go ahead a start a pre-trip, if you would like. I'd love to read it! We were originally splitting our stay with AKL at the front end, but I changed my mind. I would love to stay there one day. It looks amazing!

We're doing Coral Reef, Kona Cafe, Biergarten, Boma, and Olivia's for dinners.

I've got my VB hipster (even before I knew it was a cult thing here on the disboards! LOVE it! I just bought a little window purse (I think it was called a luggage tag) that I think will be great for my hotel ID and park pass.
